    Toshiba 46XV540U No power

Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to read and reply to this post.

I was recently given a Toshiba TV that won't turn on.

    TV Model 46XV540U
Power system is conformed by 2 power boards interconnected.
    Bigger power board model#: PE0564
Smaller power board model #: PE0563

    Symptoms:
    - While connected to a good know power 120v source, and trying to turn it on, there is no image, no output sound from the speakers.
    - There is a clicking sound once you press the power button just once every time you try to turn it on.

    Troubleshooting steps done so far:
    - Used a flashlight on the screen and there is no image showing.
    - Tested voltage in main connector that goes to main board, the 5v (possible stand by is present, no fluctuation).
    - There is a green led on main board that acts as a stand by led, turns on when I try to power on the TV and stays on until I try to power it off.
    - Tested all visible fuses.
    - Tested DC voltages in bridge rectifier D820, only 5-6 volts DC.
    - Tested AC input voltages in bridge rectifier, no voltage going in.
    - Tested Fused Resistors R897 and R898 on PE0563 board and both are good.
    - Tested fused resistor R850 on PE0564 board and there was no continuity and 0L (open loop) when testing resistance ohms.
    - Removed R850 fused resistor and tested it out of the circuit, same results.
    - Already ordered replacement for this resistor.

My question is, whatever blew this fused resistor may still be bad and the same thing can happen once the replacement is placed back in the circuit.

Any ideas on what should I test next?

I'm no electronics expert, just have very basic knowledge but I'm eager to continue learning.

Once again, thank you very much for any help and tips.

R850 Fusible resistor will go open circuit if the bypass relay SR81 for the R850 has bad contacts which causes not to bypass R850 when TV is fully turned on, that is common problem.
There are many threads about this TV model in B.C.

Thank you for your prompt response budm.

Should I also replace this SR81 relay? I will do some research on how to test it.

P.D.: Counting my post there a 3 post regarding the same TV model but the other 2 are different TV's with different symptoms and original poster ended up replacing the board and not actually fixing it. I apologize if it was not right to post this here.

Just to give this post some closure, after finding the faulty components, I had a hard time finding replacement to buy online.

I spent a few days hunting on eBay and I found and bought the PE0564 power board for a good price.

Board was received yesterday. TV is working flawlessly now.

        Thank you.

          Re: Toshiba 46XV540U No power

          Hi there,,
I am new here and i have a similar issue: no light on a Toshiba 52XV540U
I've checked all voltages and i found that the 24V going to the lights is not correct.
Going forward, i disconnected the power inverter side boards lower connector (it goes to the lower lights?) and then i got 24V correctly, but still no light.
I checked the transformers and in the back (towards the fluorescent lamps) they have continuity, but in the from the ohmmeter shows no continuity....
Question is: they should have few k ohms continuity - correct?
          Posted the pictures.
Please advise if i am correct. Tx.
