Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
I gave up on the TV, all boards seem to be fine and working and I noticed that the TV had already brun in. I tried what these two guys tried with the OLED panel, to detach it from the frame and it easily cracked, it is not as flexible as they said. Anyhow, it was at least fun try to fix it, not everything is fixable.

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvghv-Ee5-E they tear apart such a model, the support frame looks the same, I am wondering if something is wrong with the PCB of the panel because always before it freezes the panel will went dark on the right side. I already exchanged the ribbon cables, still the same.Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
I did the test, but as these light bulbs have only 5W, they will only draw ~0,416A from a PSU with a rating of 15A at 24V => 360W. This means the bulb will only draw 2,77 % of the rated current/load. I measured the current and it was 580mA and stable and I only have 1 bulb, no chance to get close 20% or 50% of the rating.Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
if the currents drops or it was from start not enough to feed panel this will do the shut off because SMPS IC circuit sync will turn off / cut off.
your way of using LED for the test are nothing to do for approving this test.Last edited by Diah; 11-10-2019, 10:56 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
No, I only used a LED, but I checked the voltage when it was working and when it was in failure mode (horizontal lines on the screen). Voltage was always stable.
What do you mean? For what should I look?Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
if there SOS signal come back from panel then it will be via the LVDS to MB. normally if we disconnect the LVDS the set run turn on and stay on but sound only.
panel OLED part of it driver (firmware) with register code. where it saved on own small ram.
did you try the bulb test on the 24V of the panel??Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
Today the replacement board arrived and as I expected, same problem as before. Sometimes I am able to turn on the TV to power only mode but it does not last long. First time around 30 seconds until the right side of the panel turns dark and then a freeze with horizontal stripes, as you can see at my first post.
Second time around 10 seconds and now again on off klick of the relay after 3 seconds.
It seems that some part of the panel electronic which is covered by the rear frame might be damaged.
Is there any way to access this part of the eletronic? I guess it is all glued to the back frame... Any other ideas or suggestions?Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
I know that it wasn't the correct way, but I baked the MB in the oven for around 20 min, a friend fixed is graphic board that way, but for me still the same result. MB and TV still doing the same, after power on, it will power off.
Replacement board has not arrived yet...Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
I now disconnected the 24VS (3 lines of PSU to MB connector) and tried to power on via RC and Power Only, both time same result. Relay switches off after 3 seconds.
When I disconnect 24VD (Cable between PSU and T-CON) the same result.
I am still waiting for the replacement MB...Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
Ok, I thought these are different circuits, because the 24V for AMP are already on when PWR ON is set while the other 24V for T-CON are switched via DRV ON and on the PSU it looked for me as two separate circuits. Anyhow I will disconnect the 24V lines from the PSU MB connector plug and try again.
Right now I am on a business trip, hope the new MB will be there when I am back on Wednesday. Will try it when I am back.
Thanks for the support and patience!Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
How do I kill the 24 V?
I checked all voltages (1.1V; 1.5V; 2.5V; 3.3V; 3.5V; 5V; 12V; 24V) and regulators on the MB, everything is stable for the 3 seconds the relay is on.
Regarding the seconds test you mentioned, it will have no effect, because the MB never gives the DRV-ON signal so 24V is never applied to T-CON.
the 24V on the set used for Panel power and audio amplifier only, T-CON used 12V only from Main boards via LVDS.
so if we terminated the 24V audio amplifier circuits feeding which usually will be via L or low R before the circuits let us know the 24 error causes.
same way when we disconnected the 24V sockets between PWB and T-CON driver.
from yours OP photos and the voltage reading... the main IC are suspected so much as BGA. it will worth to take out the cooling plate of it and put plaster on it and components near by and the downside of the boards too... and heat it with hot air gun. hope it will work.Last edited by Diah; 10-27-2019, 10:34 AM.Leave a comment:

Could be wrong but I think a good mainboard will solve the issue.Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
I think the panel is broken, always shortly after the DRV-ON signal is set, the T-CON will set BURNT_DET/T_CON_SYS_POWER_OFF/LED_R which will give IC3000 the command to shut down the whole TV Set. Please correct me, if I am wrong!
I will have a last try with another MB from ebay next week, but my hopes are low.
Although it happened a few times now that the T-Con didn't set the signal but only when I turned the TV on via POWER_ONLY mode, but I had now picture on the screen, it stayed black. No sound from external source, USB would initialize, SPDIF lights up but no command from RC will work. No IP received from DHCP server. TV will be seen detected by graphics board from my laptop, but as I said, no sound or picture on the TV. When I then unplug from wall and replug, TV will set on by itself but power off after 3 seconds when BRUNT_DET signal from T-CON is received.Leave a comment:

second Test:
every things in place.. LVDS connected
only the socket between PWB to T-CON driver board (24V) DISCONNECTED . then turn on and check.Leave a comment:

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I ment to say, without 230V power supply connected to the TV Set.
When I try to turn it on with RC it will always power off after a few seconds and in that time no USB flashes or IN_STOP command worked, tried it already several times before.
Is there any way to boot the MB without LVDS connected to have for example enough time to check all voltages on the ICs on the MB?
you may start with 24V line on MB. you have on the socket which connected between PWB & MB 3 line of 24V which feed two Audio amplifiers on MB.
these line need to terminated at MB side. to be sure we don't have issue at this point t kill the 24 V. terminated then turn onLeave a comment:

Disconnect LVDS cable (without power supply connected to the Set)

Re: 55EC930V Power On - Power Off failure
every things connected to Power boards... only LVDS between main boards and T-Con driver boards disconnected from Main boards side.
plug in wall.... it will go on then to off after 3 seconds ( as you wrote before).. then with RC turn it on... if its turn on.. send with service RC via any android mobile with IR sender ( IN_STOP ) command.. to roll back all driver.. report your result.Leave a comment:

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by sam_sam_samI was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on
The screen powered on and was giving an operation error but the manual was not very clear about what the error exactly was but with a little bit of troubleshooting and finding out that the control relays not powering on and no keyboard functions we narrowed down to this one switching power supply which of course does not have any indicator LED light they are on the keyboard interface/relay controller board
Found shorted diodes on main controller relays there are 3 of them that... -
by shovenoseGot this one for free because, well, it no worky.
A little research and there are tons of complaints all over forums/the internet about premature failure of these switches. The observation everyone makes about these is "they run hot" and failure occurring as soon as 13 months, right out of warranty, of course.
Upon removal of the cover I found a G0398-15011480A power supply that, when plugged in, was making a constant ticking noise. Multimeter confirmed the PSU was the issue. Output was cycling between 0 and about 20V. With output disconnected it sat around...-

by sam_sam_samThese cheap non brand capacitors at it again
Last night we had a power outage [ long drawn out trying three to come back up before going out completely ] and when I went to turn the DVR camera recorder back today no go 3 bad capacitors ( one capacitor no ESR reading on DVR board the other 3 capacitor on the power supply board over 40 ohm this is not a misprint ) on the external switching power supply and one capacitor on the DVR camera recorder board where the power supply that goes to the hard drive disk is
