Just going by same model won't always work, you usually need to match up the numbers on the white sticker, what is your panel number? should be on a sicker on the back metal chassis somewhere.
I have bought a new tuner board, it behaves identically to the old one. If I turn it on without a tuner board in, all the tuning options are correctly grayed out so it does communicate with it at least in some way.
log in SM and register the type of your new Tuner there..
The board was mismatched to the TV. I have got another one with the same issue and what I did to fix this issue was to simply reball the old board's NAND memory and solder it to the new board. This fixed all issues and the TV works again. Thanks to everyone for participating in this thread.
WHAT WHAT?? YOU didn't say it had a dead cpu NOW did you???
That's the only logical conclusion to the failure mode of the original board. The NAND memory was good and so taking it off the original board and placing to new donor made the new board fully compatible with the TV. Old tuner is still good also.

If there was nothing wrong with the NAND then why did you reball it?
I don't think you've read what I wrote carefully enough. You have to reball the memory in order to reuse it on the new donor board. How else would you solder it again?
