I am trying to replace a 2 diodes from a HDD that went bad. I cannot figure out the part number to replace them with. They are on the 5v line of the HDD board. Can anyone help me figure this out? I think the big one is a TVS diode.

Re: Trouble finding diode part number
I know the zener diode was bad because on the other board I am replacing it on it was bubbled on the top. What is the one on the left? I was kinda wondering if it was a diode or not because it didn't have a cathode band on it.Comment

Re: Trouble finding diode part number
Also the smaller one on the left was bad on the actual board I’m replacing it on because there would be 5v on one side coming from the plug supplying power and on the other side of this component was only .8v.Comment

Re: Trouble finding diode part number
Is the device on the LEFT connected to the power pins? it looks like fuse.
The 4 devices all connected in parallel on the right: two MLCC, and two devices with band on top one may be Tantalum cap and another one may be diode for reverse polarity protection.Never stop learning

Re: Trouble finding diode part number
The little one could very well be a fuse. On the left side of the component the trace goes right to the 5v pin which connects to the power supply for the HDD. I'm pretty sure the diode on the left is a TVs diode which is usually for circuit protection. That's why if you remove it the HDD will still boot up but just not have any circuit protection there. When they go bad they usually short.Comment

by YanlebIn the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.
This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.
For an example, look at the attached PDF.
Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?
Thanks....07-03-2023, 08:16 PM -
by FreakyMexHello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...02-17-2025, 01:16 AM -

by Steph.henHi all, a newby question about a bridge rectifier I'm trying to identify.
I'm in the midst of reparing a battery charger in work which went pop, The bridge rectifier has shorted and took out a couple of other components. The rectifier in question has a part number KPB305G, and it looks like it's obsolete. Does any one know what I could replace it with?... - Loading...
