    UN65KS8500 Random Reboots

As they say, "This time, it's personal!"...

I have a 65" 4K on my wall at home.. Well, technically it's now on my workbench at my shop, but.....

Anyways, it's had an issue for as long as I have had it..

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70008

Minor though.. Blemish at the top of the display..

But for the last couple weeks, it's been doing random reboots.. The screen will go dark and then will reboot.. It came to a head on Sunday right before the JAGS/PATS game.. Fortunately, I had brought home a 55" from my shop so I was able to enjoy the Jags stomping the ever-lovin' CRAP out of the Pats...

    But I digest...

I remember having a similar problem with a Samsung a while back.. Random reboots... It turned out THAT problem was caused by 2 burnt wires at the Power PCB connector on the cable that runs between the Power PCB and the Main Video Board.. In that fix, soldering the wires directly to the Power PCB fixed it.. I have seen that on a couple Sammys since then..

Unfortunately, it's not such an easy fix.. The wires and connectors look fine, no burnt or heat marks anywhere..

I am thinking replacing the Main Video Board might fix the issue, but wanted to see if there was anything else out there, possibility wise...

    Thanx in advance..

    Update...

This is the kind of TV that has the ONE CONNECT tuner/port box...

In the midst of several reboots, I pulled the box out of the equation and there has been no reboot since (15 mins +/-)...

Could the OC box in and of itself, cause the problem??

Is this an OLED Samsung TV and oes it have a LEFT and RIGHT PSUs? Also does it carry an EL Bd. that sends power to the Panel?

        Nope, just a single PSU..

Not sure what you mean by EL Bd., but there is only the PSU and the main video board..

I'll get some pics as soon as my phone gets here..

        Thanx for the reply...

Did a reflow on the Main Video board and used the Aoyue on the GPU...

For the last hour, I haven't seen a reboot..

            Hopefully, it's fixed {knock on wood}...

              Just a followup on this..

Apparently, the reflow worked... Haven't had a single reboot in the days since I did it..

              Thanx for the replies...

                A2338 820-02020-A | Battery Not Detected/Random Reboots
                by grimacelord
                Hello,

I have a A2338 MacBook Pro here that came to me because the battery wasn't being detected. The owner tried to replace the battery themselves thinking that the battery was the problem but the behavior continues even with their new aftermarket battery. They also accidentally ripped off the black plastic clasp to the battery flex cable connector @ J5151, but I pulled that off of a donor board and replaced that for them already. I did quickly check to see if that was simply the problem, but it's not.

First thing I checked was I2C_SMC_PWR_3V3_SCL and I2C_SMC_PWR_3V...

Corsair AX850 low 12v and 5v voltage with random reboots.
                by Psychedelic
                Hi guys,

I am having problems with an Corsair AX850 Gold PSU. I have had the PSU FOR around 8 years but it had not been used much. This PSU was used to power two video card and an i7 CPU originally. I noticed that the 12v power was going as low as 11.4v and the 5v was going lower than 5%. I was getting random reboots. I found that the motherboard socket had bent pins and one actually broke. Therefore, I assumed that was the problem and not the PSU. I rebuilt a whole new system. This time AMD. I decided to use this PSU since I had it.

Now with the new system I am still...

Wire twisting tool for small wires - ideas ?
                by Dannyx
Good day folks. Recently, I started doing more and more alarm system installs which involve dealing with a ton of small wires which are part of 4 to 12 core alarm cable. To make my installs as clean and neat as possible, I twist together the individual wires whenever possible to make braids like in the picture. It takes a lot of time and wears on my fingers really quickly, to the point where I actually developed a blister on my index finger from all the twisting. This got me thinking if there's a tool designed to braid small wires like this. I know there is something for twisting together solid...

Asus B85M-GAMER no hdmi output and random restarts
                by Prosatanosz
                Hi!

Asus B85M-GAMER absolute no hdmi output (not at start, not at Windows), and random restarts. Everything work, except hdmi and random restarts after 0.1-3 min. Restarts even in bios. On VGA Windows boots up fast, games and apps starts ok. Mem, psu, cpu changed, no luck. I need shematic, because i think the restarts caused by the hdmi failure.

Asus TUF Gaming FX506LX laptop just stuck at random time
                by Dreigas
                Hi everyone,

I've got a problem with my Asus TUF Gaming FX506LX laptop. I bought it as a non-working unit it had been completely drenched in a sweet alcoholic drink and was left for a year... When I got it, the motherboard wasn't in terrible shape, but I had to clean a lot of areas—about 1/5 of the motherboard. There was some corrosion, but I managed to clean it up and re-soldered where I saw issues under a microscope.

One of the two primary MOSFETs was fried (PQ33 fried and PQ34 were fine), so while I was waiting for a replacement, I desoldered it and created a short....
