Hello

I was manipulating the screen (48" ju6500 SAMSUNG LED 4k) in order to have it properly centered, and noticed vertical lines when turned on... I then realized with magnifier, that in outer side of the pixels area: at the edge, one of the corners is slightly damaged... it is a very very small area but plenty (maybe 3 or 4 ) of parallel conductive lines, the total area is around 1mm width and 5 mms long.... it is a very small piece of glass....and in the bottom tabs area... im not 100% sure it is the cause of the vertical lines, but almost sure.... is there any incredible way to bypass the lines or a fix to this? due to the fact that the screen is perfect in the pixels area!!!

If there is a small crack you will get those lines and be assured the crack will get bigger. You wrecked the screen and that's it. How would you explain to the owner you broke their TV?.....

Im the owner, no problem with that,. i gonna upload pictures .... the question i was trying to ask if due to the fact it is on the edge and not in the pixels are some chances may exist... but now im afraid

why were you "manipulating the screen" ... I assume you were replacing the LEDS.

you can check things further maybe.... are the edge boards on the bottom of the panel composed of multiple boards interconnected together by ribbon cables... that is, on one half of the screen is the two boards at the bottom and the same on the other half?
IF so, you can try unclamping the interconnecting cable between the two boards and see if that changes anything and go from there.

Yes 2 bottom boards ... these pictures clarifies? But not clear what to try indeed...

your picture shows only ONE board per side... :-( there is no way to isolate the far corner portion of the board (and screen) to see if there is indeed an issue with the damage. :-(

Dont be so obvious... anyone here knows cant do anything with a cracked panel.... but this is not exactly a cracked panel ..its a broken at corner where no pixels exists and maybe i thought i could bypass the lines jumping the broken part like this guy seems to be doing

Im trying to help so people don't waste their time and money with tvs that they can't fix.

Thats a totally different thing becouse the panel is not physically broken.

Unfortunately the traces on LCDs are "multi layer", there is more than you can see there that is broken, and without having manufacturing information telling you exactly where some of those signals go, you have no chance.

tom66 yes but even if you have vendor information, what can we do in this case ? traces inside the glass are the one broken, and even if you find golden connectors in the bottom board you need to find corresponding traces in the edge tabs, that are selled and unreachables, right? what can be done?

Replace the screen with a new one or part out the TV and sell the parts on e-bay.

thanks that is what im going to do, but this is not the place to find this kind of answers.... of course that is the way to go, but believe me the intention here is to provide useful solutions wherever as posible, i though in this case would be posible to bypass some lines, but I was wrong.... useful answers like "budwich's" are the ones one gratefully read! thanks budwich!

Nothing. It is a loss. Maybe you could do it, but it would take so much effort and equipment that it would never work out.

You may as well ask how do you fix a seized engine. It is often not worth doing because it is so expensive.

I did this several years ago. For me, it happened because the corner wasn't seated properly and it pinched when I was putting the screws back in the metal frame. Lesson learned. Now I'm meticulous when it comes to putting panels back in place.
