Samsung Model s50fh-yb10 , Having trouble with our plasma tv. Plug it in and i hear the dreaded clicking sound. So i unplugged it let it sit for alittle and took back panel off. I unhooked all boards and tried to power it on. nothing happened. Waited alittle hooked 1 board up at a time. Nothing. It only clicks when all boards are hooked up. The clicking sound seems like it is coming from this metal heat sink or?
The green light on other board will flash a few times when i hear the clicking sound. could this be the sustain or or buffer.
I am not sure where these are located. Also when working on this tv. I do realize it stores enough juice in it to kill you. How long should i wait( unplugged ) before i start messing with sustain ,buffer or other similar parts.

That clicking sound is a good sign that the PSU is OK. Could we get clear pics of the back of the TV so we could see how the boards are connected and close up shots of each board? That will give you more responses as then we can see what you are speaking about.

Don't no why my pics are upright when i took them and uploaded,but when i looked at them on my thread they are all crazy side,upside down views..

First let's test your PSU and see if it is OK.
Look at connector J821 on the PSU. With your DMM black probe connected to the chassis GND and the red probe on Pin 1or2 plug the TV in the ac and see if you have a steady 5.3Vdc. I can't see where a StdBy 5V would be .If you do. Unplug the TV from the ac. Wait for 10 minutes and unplug the jack going from the PSU to the Y-Main Bd. I can't see clearly what the No. is. Jxxx?? Anyway it should have the marking VS and GND on 2 of the wires.

tested psu getting 5.18-5.19 . When i powered tv on no pic,just black screen , no clicking sound though. tv powered up red light stayed on front of tv and also green light on psu stayed on. tested fuse on psu it read 1 on tester

What does it show on your meter (set to Ohm mode, no power apply to the circuit) if you touch the two probes of your meter together? That is what is should show when you test the fuse.
'1' usually means over range = blown fuse.

reads 1 . when i have it set to 200k reads 1 when i have it set on 2000k
reads 1 when i have it on 20k

this cen-tec meter is JUNK!!!
i WILL BE GETTING A FLUKE REAL SOON.

1 reading on your meter indicates a blown fuse.

ok. I got a better meter not the best by far but alot better than what i had. My local hardware store didnt have any flukes so i bought a ideal 61-340. Tested fuse it is good tested the dc on pin connector j821 on psu with the y board disconnected i got a current jumping around and now the tv clicks several times. I did notice when i plug tv on the red light on front blinks 7 times. I will hook up y board and try soon.

hooked y sus board up now i get clicking sound. Am i right on this? if the y sus board is bad shouldnt i replace the lower and upper y drive boards or just the upper?
