Good tip. I think I'll try that.

    thanks

I received my t-con today. I installed it and the TV now works.
I was hoping that small crack would only affect the corner where it was, but nope it causes vertical lines top to bottom on the left side of the screen.
I temporarily put some painters tape over the lines and it helped a little.

So while far from ideal it works. I think I'll hang it out in the garage and watch youtube vids while I wrench.

    thanks everyone

Those t-con test points measured AVDD 1v, VGH .9v, and VGL .1v

A replacement t-con is fairly cheap for this TV at around $5 shipped without ribbon cables and $9 with.
Does it seem like the t-con is the problem?

    thanks

The past few days have been hectic.
    me too..

When I first put the tv back together the ribbon cables going to the t-con were off a little..maybe this shorted something out?
    It's possible!
Note: my keyboard is not working, used onscreen one..

I noticed the tcon cables being offset as well. In fact I thought I killed my panel when I first fired it up.

How much is a replacement tcon ?

Sorry it took a while to respond. The past few days have been hectic.

Yes I have sound. I hooked my laptop up to it via hdmi and played a video clip and the sound played through the TV.

Does that mean the problem is likely the panel is completely dead? or possibly the t-con? When I first put the tv back together the ribbon cables going to the t-con were off a little..maybe this shorted something out?
although the fuse is not blown so that is probably unlikely?

    thanks

i tested both sides of the t-con fuse and get 11.8v so its getting power. I don't know how else to test it.

i havent tested the 15v after fixing the LEDs but before i fixed them and before damaging the LCD it has never showed any voltage.

    thanks

if the 15v isn't ever there, then it might be a problem. Based on my limit experience, that gets delivered to the panel.

I dont know if you done other errors, lets suppose of not, it's a simple equation, if a broken glass brokes the tcon it's not useful to fix it or change it, it will break again...

Reminds me of this, thus, I try my best to not drop anything or bump anything with an LCD!

Here's the deal. Yes the crack has hindered the gate driving of the panel, You're area on the bottom crack spot is right where the 1st gate drives the horizontal span of the panel and every other gate consecutively needs to drive with the hand off of the 1st section. Sense that section has been damaged 1st then there is no handshake and no passive information going to the next gate thus for yes this can wipe out the whole panel it is rare but it can happen

I checked the fuse F101 on the t-con and it showed .4ohm on 200ohm scale.
Is there more then 1 fuse on the t-con?

    thanks
