LG 47LN5200 and similar models common fail + easy fix

just thought i'd share my experience as i came into a few LG sets that shared this same panel and they all failed the same way. the PSU could be tricked on, and was giving enough volts that should have powered the LED strips, but i wasnt even getting so much as a flash.
after taking apart the panel and finding a bad LED (or two) i reassembled the panel only to see it doing exactly the same thing. according to my LED tester, all the strips were fine now, and according to my voltmeter, the PSU was outputting good voltage but still nothing.
i took apart the panel again to see if volts were actually going to the strips and discovered they werent.

so what it turned out to be was the LED connector on the PSU even though it looks fine and like its making enough contact, it just isnt. i dont know how this can go bad over time (maybe oxidized?) but it's a loose fit to begin with.
i took some super thin copper strands and fed them through each pin hole of the connector and around the back and just kinda twist tied them in place (to add more copper material inside the pin holes) and jammed that sucker back in there and now it works flawlessly.

i literally did this same fix to 3 LG's in a row, so i guess this is a common failure where the connector stops making good contact (maybe leading to destroying some LED's?)

anyway just thought id leave this here in case anyone comes looking for info about LG 47LN sets...
    Don't fear the repair...

Dell G15 5515 RGB Keyboard Not Detected (Compatible Keyboard, Possible BIOS/EC Issue?)
    by NotEnough
    Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050 Ti) and recently installed a compatible 4-zone RGB keyboard and controller (for Dell G15 5510/5511/5515 models). While the keyboard functions for typing, the RGB lighting is not detected by Alienware Command Center (AWCC), which displays “No AlienFX devices found.”

    What I've Tried So Far:
    • Reseated the cables.
    • Reinstalled AWCC and AlienFX services.
    • Attempted BIOS downgrade but no improvement.
    • Inspected ribbon cables for damage.
    • Explored the possibility of BIOS or

    Yamaha TSX 120 Standby Problem
    by psssst
Hello forum. I've recently been given a Yamaha TSX 120 DAB radio and ipod dock. Its working well however when put on standby its using 6.3 watts. The manual states less than 1 watt on standby. I measured this with a plug in monitor which seems accurate with other items. In use it uses around 7.5 watts. Firstly has anyone who owns a similar radio also got a plug in monitor to check if this is normal with this unit? In the first half a second the monitor shows 0.3 watts which I suspect is what it should use but something is switching it to be almost fully powered. I've searched the manual for eco...

Operating frequency for motherboard common mode inductor/filter
    by J_T
I have a question - I have replaced the PSU on my own iMac Pro. However, when removing the motherboard I knocked of a 120 OHM 30% 0.3A small surface mount common mode inductor/filter (~0602 size) in the ethernet circuit near the female RJ45 port.

The closest match I can find on Mouser is 120 OHM common mode inductor at 100MHz - my question is this frequency correct for a motherboard? The schematic for the motherboard only provides '120 OHM 30% 0.3A' and the TDK part number does not return anything in google.

Sorry, I am not experienced hence a basic question.

Sony RB2G Chassis KDL-55W815B MAIN BOARD 2 Blink Error issue resolved! Happy days :)
    by cheeky2
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...
