    Samsung Plasma advice please.

Hi I have two Samsung Plasmas with cracked screens.

A PS43D450 and a PS42C450. Although the model numbers are similar the TV boards are quiet different.

Anyway I have been searching patiently for a year or more for faulty TVs with good screens, so that I can swap some parts, but having no luck at all.

The PS43D450 powers up, nothing on screen, no Samsung chime. TCon flashes on for about 4 sec off for 2. Test voltages rise and then fall.

The PS42C450 powers up, screen flickers, good Samsung chime. TCon flashes on for about 4 sec off for 2. Test voltages rise and then fall.

How confident can I be that the boards are good and that I can sell them? I just want them gone at this stage.

Either may have bad buffer boards.

You can test using this video:

The other boards are probably ok, but it is hard to tell without an oscilloscope.

      Thanks. I have an oscilloscope.
If you could point me in the direction of another guide, that would be great.

Is your scope a digital scope that can pause the waveform?

If you post a picture of your Y-main I will show you where to probe.

You need to be able to pause the waveform because there's a good chance the set will detect a fault due to the cracked panel and shut down. So you'll only get a few cycles of a waveform before it dies.
