Toshiba Regza 37X3030D Service Menu/Reset

Tv experiencing issues whilst in PC and DTV modes whereas the OSD Menu only stays on the screen briefly

If I follow the following procedure on the above named TV it just shows a blue screen with the 'S' service menu icon top right corner, does not show any 'Menu' options.

'TOSHIBA

1.
# Turn the TV on.
# Press the {MUTE} button three times on the remote.
# Press the {MUTE} button again on the remote and hold.
# Then press the {MENU} button on the TV's front panel.
# Release both buttons
# There should be a letter "S" on the upper right of the screen.
# Press the {MENU} button on the TV's front panel again.'

Pressing the 'Menu' keypad button again and I can toggle between RCut,GCut,BCut,RDRV ETC... which are displayed top left corner but I'm sure I really don't want to be changing any of these.

Is the Eeprom data corrupt possibly or a faulty BGA chip on the Signal Board or am I missing something? PS bd volts all seem ok and TV operates normally otherwise, well HDMI input gives a good picture and sound and remote and keypad work.

Correction: PC input works fine, image and OSD menu display fine.

Also both scart inputs working, so at the moment it would appear its only the DTV mode thats screwy.

In service menu pressing '9' shows Self Test screens and other info, on all other source input modes the 'Block' setting is solid red, however on DTV source the 'Block' setting 'DTV' flashes between red and green, I assume this indicates a fault condition.

UV - analog tv
V1 - scart 1
V2 - scart 2
V3 - component
V4 - hdmi 1
V5 - hdmi 2
PC - obviously PC input
DTV - obviously digital tv

Although theres no longer analog reception available the ATV source does work normally i.e attempts to tune channels - scans through the freqs.

Thanks Dick, that led me directly to what I needed. Now I just need to get a PCMCIA to CF card adapter to try it.

I inadvertently in a hurry bought the wrong PE0251 board, its for a 32C3030D. Have tried it with no success!
The Tv powers up from cold boot but instead of going into stanby mode it turns on with backlight lit only, nothing else happens and no response to remote or keypad.
Anyway, the 2 boards look identical so I assume the only difference is firmware.

In theory would simply swapping the eeprom from the original bd to the replacement bd work? assuming the original board is faulty and the firmware is not corrupt, of course.

i have read folks here were able to retrieve eprom by freezing them and even get tv to turn on and run normally. Were you able to do this with original board? Canned air upside down should do the trick. But if corrupted may do no good anyways.

I really do not know but perhaps someone else familiar with Toshiba sets could advise you.

CF card arrived today so did the update, worked a treat, TV now up and running again. Thanks again for your invaluable help!

Only issue I have now is that I am unable to tune any channels as the aerial is pointing in the wrong direction and installed on the wrong axis. Looks like a job on a dry sunny day though not looking forward to it!
