For Anyone Who Has A Sharp LC-XXLEXXXU TV With Lamp Error

Hello! I'm making this post for anyone else that might run into the same issue I did. I no longer have an issue, but it was a hell of a time solving my issue on a Sharp LC-60LE820U, so I'd rather save others the hours I wasted by taking a few minutes of my time to write this up.

Firstly, these TV's are known for bad LED's. Pretty typical for them to fail. That generates a 1 long, 1 short blink error. Not such a big deal, swap the damaged strips and call it a day! Right? Wrong! Now you've got to reset that lamp error. The TV has likely activated an 'error mode' that disables the lamps from even trying to power up. It'd be nice and simple if the controls were reliable physical keys (as opposed to softkeys), but the fact that they aren't makes it hard.

Anyhow, what I found is you have to first boot the TV in Lamp Error Disregard Mode -- again, it'd be simple if things worked properly. You'll have to try this many times, because you almost assuredly will not get it on the first time. BUT, don't give up after once! If you did it and achieved it, you'll have the softkeys light up, and the icon/logo will be solid (and ideally, your LED's will light up; unless they are still damaged). It will take a few seconds between when you activate this mode and it turns on, so be patient; just because it doesn't turn on instantaneously does not mean it's still broken. The combination to do this is the Volume Down key on the set at the same time as the Channel Up key on the set. Press the power button while holding both.

Things you can do to try and help:
-Press firmly on the keys, and be sure to be on them
-Try to cover a decent vertical pattern on them with your fingers
    -Try again, many times
-Unplug the set, then be holding the Ch+ and Vol- keys while plugged in and THEN press power
-Unplug the set for a few seconds between tries
-hold all three keys while plugging in
-Plug in the set, then after a few seconds hold the two (Ch+, Vol-) keys, then press and hold the power key.

Now, once you have that on, follow the Process Mode steps to reset the lamp error with the Lamp Error Reset option.

-Hold the power button for 5 seconds (the set will turn off)
-Now press and hold the Vol- and Input keys, and then press and hold Power.
-You should have the set turn on and display a [K] on the screen.
-Now hold the Ch- and Vol- keys.

You should now be in. Just as before, it may take a few tries, and you should definitely press firmly on the keys.

    TV's known for this error include, but are not limited to the LC-60LE820U / LC-40LE820U / LC-46LE820U / LC-52LE820U / LC-60LE820U models (also the 810 and 832 variants).

Good luck, hope this helps someone! I almost gave up on my set, but the tips I've included as well as not giving up on trying the same thing a few times, got it going!

    Sharp LC-60LE810UN Lamp error
    by Eric D.
    Hello everyone!
I just acquired a Sharp Aquos for free.
When I plug it in, it will try to power on, but it fails.
The "error code" is 1 long flash, then 1 short flash, which suggests it is a lamp error code, according to the manuals.
    I did a bit of research and did what I found could be the possible issues;
I removed the back panel, checked for continuity on both fuses where the power cable connects, and I get somewhere around 0.05. That should be good.
I also tested the leads going into the psu board from the wall connector; I get 120V.
    I disconnected...

    Hello guys!
I have a strange issue with my laptop keyboard and I'm lost trying to detect what's wrong - the KB9028Q-C or the keyboard itself.
It powers on OK and has no other issues except the following:
    • CAPS LOCK does not work at all
    • Fn button toggles Flight Mode
    • When I press 't' or '5', it produces 't5', and when I press 'y' or '6', it produces 'y6'
    • (with SHIFT pressed: 't%' and 'y^' respectively)
I initially thought it was a keyboard malfunction (internal short, etc.),
but when I press and hold...

I have a post on psx-place for this but thought I'd try here as well in case anyone has experience or the schematics or any kind of help. Here's the original post from psx-place:

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

    Sharp LC-60LE810UN Lamp Error
    by Yanleb
    Hi all,

I have this Sharp LC-60LE810UN that stays off and blinks a Lamp Error (1 long flash followed by a short flash, in a loop).

I already confirmed that the first backlight strip has an open LED using a LED strip tester. The other 3 LED strips are fine.

Before tearing the LCD panel apart, I want to make sure that the rest of the TV set is good. I've tested the power-supply/LED inverter board by sending 5 volt to PS-ON, to PNL-POW (that commands power the T-CON board only), OFL and STB pins. The power-supply is good.

    I've tried all the key...
