Re: Polaroid TLX-04244B Image Quality Question

I should know better... search first - post if you don't find anything. Using advanced search to narrow down to the Equipment Usage, Soldering, Techniques, and Reviews board I found that someone had posted about Arctic Silver making a 2 part epoxy thermal paste https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ight=heat+sink

You really don't need adhesive because the pad needs to make contact with heat sink or it does no good. You can also buy the thermal pad: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...e+Pad&_sacat=0

Well... I successfully screwed that up!! Good thing I got the unit for free else I'd be really upset with myself... as it is I'm pleased with the learning experience. I practiced the removal a few times on an old PC motherboard and wasn't really having any issue but simply couldn't get the pins of the AS-15F free. Somehow I managed to remove a few of the pads from the PCB so this project is done. Tv isn't worth trying to buy a T-Con board so.

At least I upgraded my crap soldering iron for a nice 2 'n 1 SMD rework station. The iron on that thing is NICE.

Thanks for all the tips and advice... I'm sure I'll come up with other projects to hone my skills on.
