Hi,
I have a 50" samsung plamsa PS50B451B2W tv I am trying to fix. It failed one day an does not turn on with a clicking power supply.
I took it the back of and narrowed it down to the X-main board. If I disconnect the X main board it power on and tries to show a picture I can see the no signal message box. So I looked and the x-main, was shorted (very low resistance) between Vs and ground (failed transistors as I remove the capacitors and they are fine) thought great, and bought an another X-main board, and replaced it.
The replacement board seemed fine (high resistance). Problem was I didn't like the noise on initially powering up with the replacement board. I turned it off after a few seconds, double checked the connections, but when I powered the tv on again, it was back to the click power supply and now turning on. The replacement X-main board has also failed, in the same way.
I have checked the flex cables that go into the screen x board side can see no problems, and seem t have an open circuit between the cables and ground.
The Vs voltage is 210v as it should be, so is Va of 55v and Vg of 15v.
I am reluctant to buy another x-main board as I think one of the other boards is causing it to fail. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
