Samsung LE37a616A color issue (faulty AS15-F?)
Good day folks. Another common case of Samsung TV with incorrect colors, though not as bad as others, as the reds are actually displayed correctly while the blues are completely distorted or have a green tint. Anyhow it's not OK. I immediately figured something's wrong with the AS15-F gamma IC like it usually happens and upon removing the shield from the T-con board, this IC was burning hot, so I'm pretty sure that's the first sign right there. I haven't done any measurements to be fair. What worries me however is that this set has a separate board inbetween the main board and the T-con. I think they call it a LVDS board, though I'm not sure why it's needed, as other Samsung TVs don't have it (funnily enough I did repair one of these by replacing a 1uF cap on it). While I doubt there's something wrong with it (since the TV wouldn't display anything at all) I'd still like some advice on this - would replacing the AS15F solve the issue ? Cheers.
