Hey, guys. I recently acquired a Panasonic Viera TH-C50FD18 50" Plasma TV from my uncle when we were cleaning out his basement. He said it was one of many appliances that were the victim of lightning damage in his house. He has put some work into he said but eventually gave up & I thought I'd take a crack at it.
After downloading the service manual and attempting to follow the blink code and repair charts, I've come to the conclusion that I need more professional help... When I un-boxed the TV and plugged it in, the blink code was 6 consecutive blinks, meaning it is an issue within the SU, SC, or SD Board. I checked the Service LED's on the SC and SU boards (As detailed in the repair chart.) and they lit up upon TV turn-on then went off after 20 or so seconds. I interpreted this as the SD board (Not the D board, which I believe now was what I was supposed to replace for the 6 blink code.) Ultimately, my conclusion was to replace the SD Board, which has not fixed my TV and the blink code now shows 7 consecutive blinks.
