    Samsung 40" LCD Seeing Double

After verifying that I hadn't had too much to drink, I realized that my Samsung 40"LCD had a double image. The model number is LN40D630M3F.
I removed the back and removed the left side connector from the TCON board and the left side image came on the screen, clean as a whistle. I reconnected it and removed the right side connector from the TCON. The right side comes on with a double image and horizontal lines through it.
    What do I do next?
I am looking at this with the unit face down and the TCON connectors at the bottom. the images are from facing the front as normally viewed.

Try flexing the LCD panel or put pressure on the Tab bonding.

Flexing the panel did nothing for me so I uncoupled the ribbon and then held it down with my finger and the picture came out as it should. Am I replacing the TCON or the ribbon? I am thinking the ribbon.

Did you swab the ribbon cables to see if the problem follows if it is bad ribbon?

Well, I think something just blew. I removed the ribbons and cleaned them all up, turned the set back on and no change.
I gently pressed down on the left ribbon and the right side of the TV now has vertical lines on the far right, top to bottom. If the set stays on for a few minutes, the entire picture slowly fades away to a blank screen.
          TCON???

Can you elaborate on the reasoning for failed panel?
The unit had an image, I was able to make it singular and now I can still get images but they fade away....
Tab bonds??? Where the ribbon mounts?
Just looking for plausible answer with explanation. I don't like guessing. Any way to wittle this down?

To test if it is the Panel or T-CON the T-CON to Panel FPCs should have been removed and tried one side at a time and observe the half picture on the screen to see if it cleared with one FPC connected.....If each half showed double then the Panel is at fault....however if half showed good then the 'Cut-Off' technique could have been applied.

Is this the same as what I said in my first post? Disconnecting one connector cleaned up the screen and showed 1/2 image. Pulling the second connector resulted in double image and horizontal lines. Perhaps you could elaborate on the cut-off technique?

BudM, I will try that and see what happens. I will let you know. thank you.
