Sharp LC60LE660U power does not turn on. Because the protection circuitry has been activated three times consecutively by edge LEDs failure. Push Vol down, channel up to reset.

Easy as 1-2-3. (for PRO only)

1. make sure the problem is Eled strips.
By push Vol down, channel up and power trick to start it, you will see the screen blink briefly. Dummy tester at post #7

2. Used 852D hotair gun change the bad LEDs. Temp: 475F air:2

3.reset again & update the TV .


Conclusion: Not knowing the TV at shutdown mode, as a module Tech am I , I ordered the all boards still not fix the TV. I am hoping someone does not make the same mistake like I did. After this lesson, I've fixed more than 10 of them.

Hello Capwizard,

I wonder if you can help me. I have a Sharp LC60LE660U that doesn't power on and I suspect it is the same problem you describe here. How much dissassembly is required to access the leds and change the bad ones? Also which leds do I need to get? I checked the service manual but it doesn't say.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This where a 50 volt @ 5 amp Lab power supply comes in handy I bought one about a year ago because I had a LED module I need to test because I thought it might be the power supply problem and I was right

ok, I checked the leds (finally dug in) and to my surprise, none of them are bad. I powered the tv without the panel and they all come on bright and stay on. So my problem is not the leds.

What do you think it could be, as when I power on, all I get is a flash of the backlights and then the power on led stays on white without blinking of any sort. I can even turn the tv off with the remote control. What else could it be?
