How did you find out? New buffer boards also shorted the SC board or?

Decided to have a professional come out. Receiving 3 red blinking lights. They tested A board and power supply. A board and power supply working.

Re: TCP60ST50 7 blibking red lights

Well i don't think the panel is bad. With a bad panel the tv will stay on but makes a big buzzing noise ( Cracked panel ) or gives a bad picture.
It would also stay on with the SC50 jumper because the buffer boards -> panel are not used. Thats why they created a SC50 connector , to let the tv work without the panel.

The blown mosfet on the SC board is caused by something else. Either bad soldering/fake component or a short because you accidentally touched something. Maybe bad SC board version? for example TNPA5335 AG and you used the BG model.

Hmmm. The new board just says tnpa5647. It does look identical to the old board.

I just tried the SC50 test again. 3 flashing red. I definitely confused.

Re: TCP60ST50 7 blibking red lights

Are you trying the SC50 test with the SC board that has a blown mosfet or did you buy a brand new SC board?

The SC50 test only works if the board is 100% good and all other boards except buffer boards are good.

Oh ok. Its still the old one. I'm having them come back out to look at the tv again. However, it seems that if it is indeed the panel...I will be charged again.

I know the SC board is bad. I'm just confused as to why I'm now receiving 3 fast blinks as opposed to 7.

Re: TCP60ST50 7 blibking red lights

You don't need these guys to look at your tv. You are wasting your money!!

They told you the tv has a bad panel but they don't even know or tell you that you got a shorted SC board in the tv. Next thing they start replacing capacitors....

The Panasonic tv's are designed to detect failures in the whole set. If it detects a failure in a circuit the tv will go in protection so it protects all other boards for shorting out. The error led will give a small hint where the problem is.

This whole time you are testing the tv with a shorted SC board. You can try the SC50 jumper for another 500 times but it will never turn on.
First thing you need to do is cancel those "professional" guys and order a new or used SC board for your tv. They are on Ebay for $35.

When the new board arrives , you need to check the new board for shorts. Sometimes you can get a dead board.....
It's easy to test on this shorted SC board. Just get your meter , put it in diode/beep mode and put both propes on the SC2 connector. It will beep and beep is a bad board.

                      3 blinks :

"Shorted P15V , Missing F15V or Wrong diagnostic by the A board"

There is a 15v line on the SC board thats shorted.

I did tell them the SC board was short. I do know how to test the boards now. This is the second SC board that I will have replaced. I will send the SC board back and test the SU and SD boards for shorts.

How does that become broken panel? With the SC board obviously shorted could someone come to a conclusion that the panel is broken?

Ok , in my opinion they can't say that the panel is defective when you are testing with a shorted SC board. Again , thats my opinion.

The blink/repair chart does mention a bad panel when the tv is blinking 3 times but thats with a good SC board! Your board has one and probably more blown mosfets!

1 Remove the buffer boards from the tv and test them for shorts as in in the youtube video! No beeps and the buffer boards are probably good.

2 Get a used/working SC board and test the board for shorts before you install it in the tv.

3 Check the SS board for shorts.

4 Install the SC board and leave the buffer boards out of the tv. You don't need them for the tv to work. Use a harddisk jumper or screw and test the tv with the SC50 jumper. ( short the pins ).

Tv should turn on with a green led and no image if all boards are good!

I don't know , they probably read it in the manual.

There can still be a chance that the panel is bad but a bad panel usually shorts the buffer boards! It happened when you watched tv right? Im sure one of the boards is bad , we just need to figure out which board is defective.

Again! We need a good SC board and we need to test WITHOUT the buffer boards.

I had a 55st30 and a 55vt30 that I put working parts in and both showed a black screen, albeit with no blinking, that we could not fix.

This is the chart for this model , found it online!

On the pictures you provided i saw that the buffer boards are connected on the "new" SC board. If 1 chip on the buffer board is bad it can short the SC board also.

Thats why we need a good SC board and check the SS board for shorts.

Im off to bed , i will follow this thread and i think i have the same boards so i can measure if you want to be sure! Could you please tell me the board names?

SU/SD and SC board names please! I will take pictures how to measure the boards with a meter with the same boards.

Ok , almost certain thats the reason why your tv turned off while watching tv.

I tested the SS board as well. I disconnected SC11, tested the 2 prongs, my meter is beeping. SS is short? I have not removed the SS board so I'm unsure as to if leaving it connected affects the reading.

Here`s a quick ME Firmware cleaning guide.

The guide is basic, its main goal is to show you how to use intel FIT,its highly recommended that you all follow the guide posted at win-raid

(The attached FIT version is 11, if your ME Firmware (FW) is not 11.0.*.* follow the win-raid guide. Use the tools version for your ME FW, for example: ME System Tools v9.1 For systems running ME v9.0 - v9.1)

A video, software (intel FIT) and practice bios are all included. I`ll post a better video and more advanced guide at a later date.

Christmas lights - Something I am doing wrong
                                            by Francesc V.
                                            Hi:

i am trying to repair this Christmas lights from my parents. They are incandescent lights, no led lights.

I have tried with 12V a 24V small lights that I found in Aliexpress but is obvious that are not the right ones. They last microseconds connected. Do they blow because of Amps or Volts?

If I measure the Amps in the string........it's only 90mA. If I measure the Volts in the "green box"......it's between 0 and 190V, but doing a little bit of maths from the number of bulbs in series.......it's only about 6V per lamp.

                                            Could...

                                            Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 - Not Powering On - 3 Blinking Lights - 20 volts 0.224 amps

                                            Hello,

I have a Lenovo here that does not want to power on. The motherboard appears to be clean, no sign of corrosion or obvious fried components. When plugged in, I see 3 blinking lights and then off. It would cycle the 3 blinking lights every 10 seconds or so as long as I have the adapter plugged in. Amp meter shows 20 volts, 0.224 amps, no fan spin, red light indicator near the charge port.

Thermal camera shows a section of the motherboard that is warmer than the rest. It is near the connector labels JRTC1 (CMOS battery). Diode measurement to ground for pin 1 = OL,...

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2

This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...
