Not wishing to cause a storm but I have in my limited experience never had a problem with using a 1K resistor from P_ON to supply or ground.
Many power supplies for which there are no diagrams available will power up the secondary voltages taking P_On to 5V but with some boards its the reverse and P_On has to be taken low. Using a 1K resistor I can honestly say has never caused problems.

Hello, guys!
I have this Westinghouse 32" LCD TV that turns on, standby led lights up (blue) but no image. If I knock on the screen there's no backlight present. I took the back cover off and injected voltage on the led connector using a Led TV Backlight Tester, and no light at all, so... it must be that there's some bad Leds, right? Or there is some another testing that should I have to do? Any guiding I'll appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance!

The power supply is 2020 Corsair HX1200 modular power supply.
Cause of damage: I connected EVGA molex cable to the Sata port and test it with a ATX tester. Since the pin out on the EVGA is wrong, result in the 12V pin shorted to the 5V pin, in the 12V back-feeded to the 5v port.
Damage: Power supply shorted out, shut off itself internally, damaged the 5v or 3v rail or the monitoring circuitry. The self protection circuit shut off the power supply when power up because it detected some abnormal/defect. I waited a few minutes, let it self reset then try to re power up.... -

Hello,
The idea is to use a transistor to activate a latching relay once a voltage is applied but to prevent a constant voltage from being applied to the relay coil, I thought it might be a good idea if it were possible to make sure that the voltage applied to the coil is temporary even though the source voltage could be "ON" for long periods of time.
This is the circuit that I came up with. I have not tested it yet because I don't have the relay yet, though I am looking for anyone who might have experience with this kind of a setup to hopefully offer some advice,... -
