Samsung LE37B652 Fix: Delayed Startup (10-30m)

This post is a heads-up and fix for forum members experiencing resembling problems.

    Brand: Samsung
    Model: LE37B652
    PSU: BN44-00261A

Symptoms: After connecting the television to the mains power supply the red standby led indicator lights up. As soon as the power button on the remote control is pressed the standby indicator turns off and stays off. The LE37B652 does not immediately respond to power-on and seems disconnected from mains. It's possible that a subtle whining/clicking noise emerges from the back of the LE32B652. Only after 10m/20m/30m/40m does the LE37B652 power on and starts-up.

Identification: This model suffers from the bad capacitors problem. There may or may not be capacitors visible which are leaking or slightly expanded at the top. Although this is a common sight, my capacitors indicated no such problems and looked alright. The LE37B652 turns on immediately after warming up the capacitors around CM876 & CM881 with a heat-gun.

    Solution: Replacing all 10uF/50V (1, CI801), 47uF/50V (5, CM854, CM871, CM867, CM869, CM853), 1200uF/10V (1, CM852), 1000uF/25V (2, CM881,CM876) 105C capacitors did solve the problem in my case. I had them at hand, so replaced all at once.

Result: The standby LED turns on after connecting the television to mains. The standby indicator will dim and intermittently blink (5s) as soon as the power-on button is pressed on the remote control. LE32B652 turns on, problem solved.

    Good luck.
