Hi everybody. Just wanted to tell my sad story of a Samsung pos. I bought this for $40.00 with the usual clicking on and off.
I isolated all the boards and still clicking. I found a bunch of fet's shorted on the power supply. I ordered a kit which had everything I needed and I had VS and VA voltage and no clicking. Sounds good so far, Right?
I plugged everything back in and hear a terrible hum from the power supply. I ripped the power plug out and did further checking.
Turns out, I had a shorted Y sustain and an upper buffer. Ordered an upper buffer and a kit for the y main. Tried again and everything looked good but no display.
All my voltages were good including Vsc and Ve and I had panel glow. I read an old thread from kevinm34232 back on 3/24/13 with panel glow and no display.
It looks like it was the logic board. So I will be checking that next.
I guess the reason I started a thread, was because I cant believe a Samsung plasma can have 4 bad boards. Unbelievable!!! I would rather tackle a Panasonic because they have great manuals and trouble shooting guides.
I will post my results if I decide to carry on.
