Re: Panasonic TC-P50S60 Plasma 7 Blinks
Is there a VSCN test point or is that part of one of the other tests?
If all the 7 blink test voltages seem good, then it seems this SC board is bad too?? Could A board be giving a false error?Last edited by kevinm34232; 06-18-2016, 01:40 AM.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S60 Plasma 7 Blinks
On the Su board there should be points labelled VF5V (SRV β VF5V) and VFO (SRV β VFO) .
Check resistance (shorts)between both and vfg with it all hooked up.
It pretty much says SC if Sc50 jump fails providing you got 6 or 8 blinks with sc20 removed which you did.
if you still had 7 then that would be A as it's a false trigger as it should only trigger from a sense off the Sc and that can only be via sc20.
In order of likelihood they list
1.SD/SU
2.SC
3.PSS
4.A/Panel
when you said the PSS was erratic then that steered me to that. Maybe the TV has demons.Last edited by tw2005; 06-18-2016, 02:55 AM.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S60 Plasma 7 Blinks
New A-Board fixed the TV. Puting the old one back in causes a 7 blink SOS.
I think it would be worth figuring out why for this $100 part, but I'm gonna quit ahead..
For what it is worth to you smarter guys:
I can say that in the SM, it points to pin 25 of connector SC20 that gives the SOS 7 code.
I compared the 2 boards on plugging TV in to power..
The good board has 5V for about 3 seconds (assuming TV is doing all the voltage checks at this time), then goes to 0V.
The bad board has a quick 5V then drops to about 1.7V, before going to 0V after same 3 seconds.
So it seems A-Board is looking for 5V during this check, and for whatever reason, the bad A-Board is causing a drop.Last edited by kevinm34232; 07-23-2016, 04:10 PM.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S60 Plasma 7 Blinks
Well for what its worth. I fixed a Panasonic plasma tv that gave 14 blinks , turned on after reflowing the cpu. So it can be that when you reflow the cpu it will turn on? You can always try!

by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by AlicatHello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...10-30-2024, 10:09 AM -
by BuzztvHi,
This is my first post in attempting to keep my beloved 2013 Panasonic plasma tv going.
About 6 weeks ago the tv was turned on but then immediately shut off. There was no recent power surge or popping noise or any other symptom.
I checked all of the obvious things and decided to try a replacement power supply board (PSS in Panasonic lingo).
I would like to check the Vsus but this is one of the final models and at that point Panasonic did not indicate the Vsus and Vad voltages inside the chassis. It looks like they were discouraging people from making adjustments.... -
by nick31Hello,
My Oct 2012 panny plasma quit working yesterday.
It was on when it happened. It let out a bit of burned plastic/circuit board smell. I was not able to find any burned parts though.
Now it produces 8 blinks. According to the repair manual, that points to SS/SS2 board(s).
I completed the steps in the guide: unplugged SS33, the TV turned on with a black screen, no blinking codes. Then I checked the continuity between pins 1 and 2 of the connectors SS52, SS54-SS57. The continuity is ok in all of them. Guide suggests to replace SS/SS2 boards so I placed an order... -
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπ€?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting π.
