    Toshiba 50L4353D With 5 Bad Leds !

I have this 50" Toshiba Smart Led Tv here and its not a Vestel ! It would turn on but no backlight. Lcd is working fine and can be seen using a torch. Anyway after diagnosing that the Panel (LC500DUE SF R1) had a bad Led inside it I took it apart.

After doing a bit of testing on the Led strips, I was able to find that this set had 5 bad Leds in total all in different parts of the Led backlight ! There was 4 O/C and 1 that was S/C really odd to me as normally only one needs to pop and they will all go, so I dont know how it ran with this many bad ones because I know they didn't all fail at once.

Anyway I did the stacking method for repair and used thermal plaster to mount the new stacked Leds, now the set works fine as you can see in the image:

After repairing any Led backlight I always set the brightness to the lowest I personally feel it can go before the Tv just looks crap. I set it to 15 it orginally was at 100 which is why the Leds burnt up so fast. Anyway working good now and it actually sold before I had repaired it lol

nice! I have to do a 55" samsung, led's are in side strip 100 led's on each side. right side bottom 50 don't light up.
Any tips on handling the lcd panel when you lift it out of the frame? 55" seems wobbly to say the least.

Re: Toshiba 50L4353D With 5 Bad Leds !

Cheers Also wow 55" thats going to be fun to do lol, I did this between two beds. I took the Tv apart on my moms double bed and put the Lcd screen after removing it very carefully and rested it on my single bed. It is very fragile and flexible and carrying it was scary as it wobbles about haha.

The part you need to be most careful in doing is removing it out the frame and then finding a way to pick it up and move it safely IMO. Also with the tabbond driver boards you can use low stick electric tape and fold them over and stick them to the Lcd glass lightly this stops them going all over the place and getting damaged.

Also is it edge lit the one you have ?

Yeah I have long arms and big hands lol and im quite careful as well so I manage fine. But I would say get someone else to very carefully help you

Edge lit are also ALOT harder to take apart and replace the Leds but not impossible, you will need a good day or two to get it fixed I would say.

Use a large sheet of thick brown rapping paper and slide it in under the LCD starting from the opposite end from the tabs. then get someone to help lift using papper like a stretcher to support LCD. have done up to70" LCDs this way

Nice fix reece, its a pity that the bush edge light ive fixed (bad eeprom) has no option at all to alter backlights level ive just tried in advanced too and no setting to alter it.

Cheers bud Also you might be able to find a way of playing about with the driver to turn down the Bl I would be willing to help if you do. Also they use some cheap Leds in them screens they seem to last longer than Ves or Lg etc strangely.

Most String drivers ICs use current-setting resistor just look up data. most run max 200Ma Vestel 17IPS19 + 17IPS20 use the MP3394S four string drivers IC that are also a common problem with them

                                          Hi,
I have a Toshiba LED tv model number 40L2400VQ.
I don't receive the correct voltage at the output to the LEDs.

I disassembled the front panel and checked all leds and they are fine. Then I checked the voltage to the leds on the power board and it flactuate in milivolts.
Tested all caps with esr meter and they are fine.
The diodes are fine and the resistors too.
                                          Where should I concentrate on?
                                          Thanks in advance....

                                          Hi

No backlight issue with the TV.
Opened up panel and found 3 bad leds in the panel.

                                          LED is about 3mm x 3mm, i assume they are the 3030 type. Label on the strip is :AG-D1 94V-O 1345 ( 6 leds in a strip )

Thinking of buying and replacing the individual SMD leds. Found some online, but they have both 3V and 6V. Not sure which one i need, any idea how to tell ?

                                          Thank you....

                                          Hi,

I am trying to fix this DK10FG board for a friend. It is not powering up.

When I plug-in power adapter, its DC IN led and Caps lock start flashing. Even cpu fan gets on/off kick like flashing leds. No battery attached. Nothing happens on pressing power button. I checked the charger IC and it seems fine. (ACOK - 3.3v). Re-programmed the bios but no luck.

I checked SIO chip NPCE885LA0DX and here's the reading

Hello, i have an old Toshiba 32W1333DN (sorry, misspelled the headline) TV that had the standby led green/red flashing and no lightup problem, i repaired it by measure the led output as suspect led problem, i measured the LED:s one by one and found one bad led, i replaced the the led-straps and the TV works.

Now i need to update the software because the new rc "RM-L890" does not work and i think maybe it could be an firmware issue?, i have struggled to find it without any success because all of the links where invalid, i contacted Toshiba but they do not support this model...
