I hope you can assist in fixing my friend's television set.
Symptoms:
Initially the Power LED is red.
Pressing power on the remote or set, and the led flashes for a few moments and then goes to green. It stays green until the power button is pressed once again to switch off the set. I believe this is normal operation.
There is no backlight other than a miniscule flash when it is coming on (which you would miss if you blinked even slightly). I am familiar with sets where the backlight has gone, but you can still see the LCD operation. With this set, I cannot see the LCD picture at all (not even using a torch). There appears to be no picture AFAIK.
What I've done so far.
Examined the power board - It looks 'as new'. Capacitors in good condition.
The set is less than three years old.
Checked with a meter all the Diodes and Mosfet - OK.
When powered on (green LED) - I get the following voltages from PL201.
24V - is OK. (Red wires)
BL ON/OFF - 3.2V (Blue wire)
DIM_PWM_ANALOG - 2.0V (Yellow Wire)
I also did a 'reset' on the TV by holding in the sets power button for 15 seconds, and then holding the button in while powering up the set - It did nothing.
I believe this is a cheap standard crappy Vestel set, but I've included some photos.
That is as far as I've got.
Any further assistance is gratefully received.
