Need help with a Pioneer PDP-607CMX

Hey everyone i am new to the forum and like allot of others I found my way here seeking help troubleshooting my TV.

So I have a Pioneer PDP-607CMX display that started giving me the red blink of death. 2 red blinks repeating and based on what limited info I could find sounds like my Y board is shot. But before I go spending $100 on a new board i am wondering if there are any tests to make sure its the Y board or if the panel or PSU is at fault. I have done allot of work with Panasonic PDP displays in the past but info is very plentiful but not so much for the pioneer stuff...

Thanks in advance for any replies and assistance with this!

As a follow-up to add a little more info

As a test like on the Panasonic PDPs I have worked on in the past I pulled the connectors from the sub boards connected form the y board to the panel itself and the fault still occurred which makes me think the panel itself is still good.

So here is the sequence of events from power on.
This will not occur unless I push the power button. unit will sit in standby until power is pressed.
upon power unit starts up as normal with green light
about 2 seconds later one of the relays clicks and the green light faults to blinking red light. 2 blinks every few seconds.
unit will not power back up until power is physically pulled. (unit sits in fault)
unit never starts, no sounds, no picture, no buzz from the y or x boards.

Red shutdown is the controller as Tom66 says going "OH SHIT" this locks the Tv out and needs a hard reset to get it to turn on again. Two blinks normally means the Ydrive (Ysus) is failed. Please take the back of the off and upload some images of the boards please.

I ran through each board to look for physical damage. I didn't find any bulged caps, damaged ICs or other signs the TV "let the smoke out"

Ok disconnect both Y and X drive from the Psu, turn the Tv on and check if you get Vs and Va voltages this is labled on the Psu and the panel sticker says what the voltages should be at. If you do get normal voltage then it collapses (due to sus boards being unplugged) then connect sus boards and see if Vs stays very low and the set instantly shuts off with them pluged in then you have an issue on the sus boards. Let us know what happens and I can then assist you further.

Btw thanks for decent quality images

Re: Need help with a Pioneer PDP-607CMX

Thank you ReeceyBurger123 for your advice and no problems with the images. I do this kind of work for a living only in the heating and air conditioning industry and blurry images are my biggest headache some days.

After unplugging the X and Y boards i found the VSUS terminals put out about 205v at the VSUS pins on the PSU. The PSU ran longer and sustained voltage for about 4 seconds before shutdown. The board does not appear to have a voltage listed for the VSUS terminals however it was a constant 205v peak. I got 3 blinks on the red led after trying this.

following the initial testing that I plugged in the Y-drive and repeated the test same effect PSU sustained 205v on the VSUS terminals before shutdown and again ran for about 4-5 seconds. I could hear a slight buzz on the Y-drive before shutdown which i didn't hear before.

following after connecting the Y-drive I then connected the X-drive and powered the unit at which point the VSUS termials shot to about 200v and suddenly dropped out and rapidly discharged unlike the first 2 tests. Power was only sustained for about 2-3 seconds before the PSU cutout.

here is the red led error count if this helps
            Test 1 - no boards connected - 3 blinks
            Test 2 - Y-drive only - 10 blinks
            Test 3 - X and Y drives connected - 2 blinks
            Test 4 - X drive only - 2 blinks

I am starting to suspect the Xdrive may be bad and not the Ydrive like i initially though.

Also worth mentioning there is a red LED on the PSU itself and when the unit would shut off in the 2-3 second time frame the LED would light up and stay lit until pulling power. When the Xdrive was not connected and the PSU ran longer the LED would stay off when shutting down.

Panasonic P58V11B 8 and 12 blinks error "fix"
              by Biruslapio
Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
              by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

Bose Companion 5 - Unit Powers On then Cuts Off Shortly After
              by nobbnobb1
              Hi guys,

Trying to salvage a Bose Companion 5 computer speaker system that powers off shortly after powering on. It's got a primary USB input (built in DAC) and an aux 3.5mm input. The USB appears to be the primarily source that tells the unit to power on (control pod LED goes green) as the unit has no power switch.

When I first connect power to the unit, plug in the USB, it will play audio nicely for a minute before it drops out and the unit appears to go into standby (control pod LED goes red). It stays in standby and I cannot seem to power it back on without physically...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

              by dark84
Hi. Sorry because my bad english. I bought a receiver (vsx-920). If i plug the unit in the ac outlet, i hear that a relay clicks, hdmi led blinks, after relay click again. Then i power up the unit. Unit is powering on. But if i press any button or rotate input selector or volume on the screen write PANEL LOCK. I able to use the main on/off and the zone on/off. Anything else is PANEL LOCK. I have remote, but no reaction from unit if i press any button on remote. Yet i searched internet and found a software or via telnet i am able to disable the key lock and the remote lock. But to use software...
