Hello everyone,
I just got a 17MB95M card from a Medion TV (MD30814)
I would like to put this card on my Toshiba television (48L5435), but I cannot put the Toshiba firmware on this "Medion" card
first of all, do you think this is possible?
my tests:
USB format: FAT/FAT32
Medion firmware/Toshiba firmware
I manage to trigger the update by typing Menu->1505, but it gets me every time: "Software update failed"
the firmware I found for my Toshiba only contains one file (spi-vistel-17mb95m-48l5435dg-.bin); is this normal?
I tried yours (the 3 files) to see, and I always marked Failed
Thank you in advance for your answers!

Re: VESTEL FIRMWARE: Toshiba 32W1333B
This means that the integrated dc-dc converter is defective. If you can take a close up picture I'll tell you what it is. But I don't think you have the tools to replace it. The t-cone being glued to the panel does not pose the problem of its replacement.Leave a comment:

Re: VESTEL FIRMWARE: Toshiba 32W1333B
VGH and VGL are both about 740 Ohm against Ground. If I bell it through VGH against VGL it seems to be connected.
Wait a second. Just checked it with a magnifier. I measured VCH instead of VGH. The only one I found on the board sort of similiar to what you said is VGHP and has a value of 48 kOhm.
Just to clarify:
So, VCH and VGL are connected with each of them 740 Ohm against ground. VGHP has 48 kOhm,Last edited by Magio; 12-22-2019, 12:19 PM.Leave a comment:

I have belled through all available SMD parts against ground and almost all of them seem to be sound. Where can I check the DCDC converter?
What rails do you mean exactly?Leave a comment:

Re: VESTEL FIRMWARE: Toshiba 32W1333B
That's not good. VGH is positive voltage and can exceed + 20V. VGL is negative voltage and is around -6V. There is a dc-dc converter that generates these voltages. If it is burned it can be replaced. Or it may be a short in the panel. Or a short on one of the 2 rails (smd capacitor in short, diode, etc.). Measure the resistance on them against the ground.Leave a comment:

So the t-con is feeding. Search now for t-con measuring points VGH, VGL and see what values you find.Leave a comment:

Can you take a picture with the back of the TV? Without cover.Leave a comment:

Re: VESTEL FIRMWARE: Toshiba 32W1333B
To get an update to a Vestel card is a procedure. In the USB stick, press and hold the OK key on the remote control, put the TV in the socket. When the stb LED flashes quickly release the OK key. Wait for the update to finish (2-3 min.).
If you do not have an image it can be the problem in the t-con.Leave a comment:

Oh got the misunderstanding. No there is no image I can see unfortunately, tried with a super bright LED flashlight. When switching programs up and down the backlight becomes brighter and adjusts itself again back to black with less brightness.Leave a comment:

by anluHello, i have an old Toshiba 32W1333DN (sorry, misspelled the headline) TV that had the standby led green/red flashing and no lightup problem, i repaired it by measure the led output as suspect led problem, i measured the LED:s one by one and found one bad led, i replaced the the led-straps and the TV works.
Now i need to update the software because the new rc "RM-L890" does not work and i think maybe it could be an firmware issue?, i have struggled to find it without any success because all of the links where invalid, i contacted Toshiba but they do not support this model... -
by cheeky2I have this Toshiba 49U7763DB Tv which was suffering issues after various electrical power cuts, which happened in quick succession
Originally the TV was powering on and then very shortly powering off. I managed to get into the menu structure before powering off and carry out a first time installation of the TV. Which didn't make much difference. I have managed to factory reset (that didn't make any difference either).
The firmware inside the 17MB120 is corrupted and is causing some strange issues so my question is does anyone have any suitable firmware for this model?

by DarrenHDHI all, Does anyone know if there exists an archive for older firmwares for Toshiba TV's? I've searched all over Toshiba's various websites and also on Dynabook's site (they say they deleted all old firmwares due to "server space". ) Toshiba has not replied to my request.
I'm looking for Firmware 1.07 for the 19/22/26/32 C100U series as described in this link:

Thanks!
