    Samsung LE40M86BD Transformer

    Looking for a transformer for the PCB (IP-231135A). Searching for "IP-40S INV" brings up nothing.

    When the tv powered on, wind and sound come from this transformer. I'm confident this needs replacing.

    Normally when tarfo's like that whine means the ccfl's are wearing out. Does it vary with brightness ? If not I have a spare used board here that you can have for cheap.

        Have you checked the driver fets for S/C ?

            Try heating up this area using a hair dryer to see if it stops the tv from restarting
            worth a try

              I have not powered on this tv for over two weeks now and it works now. I'll leave in on for a bit hoping it fails again then try your method.

                Not wanting to hijack this thread but I'm also looking for this same transformer, because I shorted mine.

                Nothing to find on this specific p/n, only complete boards.
                Anyone know of a replacement of this HV inverter transformer?

                Thanks.

                @ReeceyBurger123:

                Will you be so kind to check the resistance between the two HV output pins on that board you have?
                Mine measures 22 ohm so I guess it's blown but I'm curious of how much it should be measuring.

                  Here is a reading for the Samsung LE40R88BD which is very similar so you may be looking in the wrong place .

                    Well, I managed to fry the connector to the inverter balancer board and after that every time the HV was passing through, that connector was instantly set on fire. I don't know if this was due to high current going to it or due to the black of the carbon all over the plug conducting but I'm not comfortable now to test that transformer with a spare CFL lamp.

                    I also get 11 ohm from both HV outputs to ground.

                    I desoldered the transformer. Is there any way to test it now?
