Samsung Plasma model PN51D450A2D Pink Hue

    Hello guys,

I have measured the VS, VA and VSC and they are all at spec according to the back of the panel sticker. I suspect a driver board just not sure which one. No bulged caps as well. Pictures bellow any ideas guys?

I'll have to check the hours. Anybody have any idea if this could be repaired with a x or y main replacement or by upping the voltage?

Up both as will help the plasma become more active quicker meaning less sparkles and better image.

Turn them up--but do not turn up Vs more than 10v higher than panel-figure....

Its only a temporary fix, the panel itself is worn and the fault will return (IF the y-sus doesnt end up blowing sometime down the road due to the extra stress, voltage and currents)

Well guys I gave it a go and not so great I could get it to look perfect in high bright scenes, but when its something that's dark it has the pink speakles everywhere. If I get it perfect on dark scenes its all pink hue on bright scenes. Any tips? You guys positive this is not a driver board issue? As for panel hours unfortunately I forgot to check before I went into the service menu to do a factory reset so now it says panel time is 0

Could try tweaking Set_Up/Set_Dn --IF that y-sus has them.....
--TBH--I cant remember if it has those adjustments on the 51D....
--Set these to give minimum maldischarge in blacks, after getting the whites right....

You Could try updating the set's firmware--prob worth doing anyway--the actual issue you have is panel aging--and the on-board f/w not compensating correctly--duff/poor age algorithm in there....

                      Worth a try--let us know....

Hey guys sorry for the crazy late response to this I actually just got around to trying this since I have been very busy anyway I looked and didn't see a Set_Up/Set_Dn on the y-sus, but I did see a Yfr and YRR i'm not sure what they do or what they stand for, but I tweaked them anyway and was able to perfect the picture by tweaking both of them. Anyone know what they do and what they stand for? was it safe to tweak them? Thanks for everyones help on this one.

Potentiometer is a 3 terminal resistor.
By twisting them, you increase and or lower resistance, and allow for higher or lower voltage to go through. Think about what happens when you turn the sound up on your receiver or car stereo. You are pretty much twisting one of these and allowing more or less voltage to go through thus adjusting volume. Its the same thing and adjusts the amount of voltage going to the screen. You were probably approaching brown out levels before due to aging like everyone else is suggesting.

This Samsung PN50B430P2D Plasma has this big block of vertical lines which will fade in shortly after turning the TV on. The lines will sometimes flicker a bit or fade in/out and sometimes it just stays present. The length of time it takes them to appear varies, sometimes its a few minutes and other times it appears immediately after powering on.

I have attached an image of the TV with these bars displaying....
