    Samsung Tuner issue

I have a Samsung LN46A530 that I picked up and replaced a T-con board in. Everything is working perfectly except for one strange issue. After doing an autoprogram for the DTV or over the air channels, which pulled in all the available channels, whenever I select a channel, the signal cuts in and out. It's not entirely random, but not at exact intervals either. Pulling up the signal strength meter, you can watch it stay at full bars for a few seconds and then drop enough to cause blocking in the picture or even drop to zero bars causing the black screen with the "Weak or no signal" box.

I have gone into the factory manual and the tuner is set to Semco, which I believe is correct (I have tried Alps in the past and it picked up no channels when programming), but I can't find anything else to effect the tuner operation.

The antenna setup is exactly the same as it was on the Olevia I was using before this one.

I have tried various amplifier configurations to see if that would help, but with no luck.

It is pretty un-nerving to watch any channel.

    Any ideas?

On a side note: when going in to the factory menu under the option byte, how do you know which screen to select, i.e. 46 L C, 46 D HC, etc.? There are several for the 46" screen. I have cycled through them with only very minimal differences.

    Thanks.

    Re: Samsung Tuner issue

After reading some similar posts, I had some othjer info to try and narrow down the possible issue.

-The tuner does actually function and it acquires all the channels I would expect and even some low gain channels that I hadn't previously pulled in with other tv's.

-Some channels stay at full signal strength longer than others before dipping a few bars or dropping completely, but all the channels do it at some point.

-I left it on all night to see if it was a heat versus cold start issue with no observable change.

-I saw a couple posts mention updating the firmware, which I tried but I guess since I already have the latest version installed, it won't load. Is there a way to reflash the same firmware or should I try an older firmware, and if so, how would I make it load that.

That's all I can think of for now.

    Thanks.

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
      by vincentedel
      Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

      QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
      by Manucsl
      Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...

      Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
      by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
      by ScHAmPi
      Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
