    Compatible mainboards

Ok so my aunt gave me her old lg plasma tv the other day, model 50pn6500, and I think the main board is bad on it.
I've looked around online for a direct replacement, and found an exact model, but they don't seem to come up for sale too often.
I searched again on eBay today and saw that one had popped up from a 60pn5300 I think it was? And the description said it was tested on a 50pn6500 and worked as it should.
So my question is, do I need to find the same exact mainboard that I have in my tv now, or are there other versions that will work without any problems?
    Thanks in advance guys!

Any ideas guys? Or maybe it's just a good idea to stick with the original?

      Re: Compatible mainboards

      Hi Ooodavie.

It can work but it depends , some main boards are for example made for "50inch" or "32 inch" only.
It can work IF the connections look the same. The situation for this set will probably be like that the tv works but has less options/picture quality then the 6500.

For example. I own a Panasonic VT50 and the ST50 main board works in this set. Also some samsung LCD's work with "lookalike main boards".

Best you can do is search for the main board version in google with "also found in".

Hope this helps! How much was the replacement board? You can always try and resell it if it doesn't work.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Thanks for the reply Moreno, I forgot to check back to see if anyone had replied.
I haven't bought the replacement board yet, as they seem hard to come by.
There are 3 of them on eBay right now for the model that I have, and they range from $135 to $195.

LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)
          by ygorsan
          Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

          🧩 Problem Summary:
          • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
          • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
          • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
          by Asraf Atb
          Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100
          by JSin21
          Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...

Acer TravelMate P214 - N19Q7 main power rail shorted to ground
          by mkdj
          Dear all,

I have taken out the motherboard of a Acer TravelMate P214. There is a short to ground on the main power rail (19V). I don't have the schematics or boardview for this board (DAZ8IMB1AA0 REVA). But I have found 4 MOSFETS close to the main power rail : 2 N-Channel and 2 P-Channel.

I have checked resistance across each of the 4 MOSFETS. I have the following readings:
          Both N-Channel Mosfets: nothing odd

          P-Channel MOSFET number 1:
          source - drain : 117 kOhm
          source - gate: 96 Ohm
          gate - drain: 117 kOhm

          P-Channel MOSFET...
