    The other boards in the tv won't blow the HDMI. HDMI is most of the times blown by power surge.

    If a for example dreambox/x-box/cable box is getting a surge it can take the tv with them.

    Could just be your cable that keeps killing the mainboard.
    I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

      Everytime it's happened I've never had anything but my cable box plugged into an HDMI port. I had an old super nintendo hooked up once, but that was with the old school component cables - it's not an HDMI source. I guess it would be cheap insurance to change the cables - are there recommended brands? It was my understanding that all HDMI cables were more or less identical - transmitting digital signals so none of the analog cable technology mattered.
