Samsung UN32F5500_LEDs backlights stacking repair

Got another one of this model for repair, it has two open LEDs, last one I used Diodes to sub for the two bad LEDs ( I will replace the LEDs next week with stacking method), but now I have some spare LED strips that I have been collecting so I am able to put in the replacement LEDs by cutting the section of the LED from the strip and stack on top of the board after the LENS and the LEDs are removed, it is much easier this way then trying to remove the good LEDs from the spare board without taking a chance of damaging them.
I will keep this one also to see how long it will last, I also set the backlights level to 15 instead of max at 20.

Ive used similar idea--but used double-sided tape to hold replacement after cutting off old led

Any issues with a variance in light brightness/ bright spots where the leds are raised more than the others ?

Not at all that I can see, it is only raised by the thickness of the PCB, about 0.062 inch.

Are you using any epoxy or double side tape to stick the pcb down
or are you just relying on the kapton tape

I just replace the actual Led diode wih hotair then glue the optic back down afterward.

Also to glue the Led down why dont you use silicon thermal plaster ? Will help with heat dissipation.

I would replace the LED if I have the new one, I do not like removing the used one and reused it again.
I also check the the way the LED strip was made it only use the top trace for heatsink, there are no thermal vias to connect the top traces to the bottom traces at all. Fiberglass PCB does not have good heat transfer, the strips are not even glued or taped down for heat transfer to the chassis.
I will find out how long it will last. I will be doing another one next week.

So got more of this model in with bad LEDs so I order the SAMSUNG LEDs from ALIEXPRESS to try out, so far so good.
