    Orion 32" LCD

Got this LCD which powers up from standbye, power indicator turns to green but get no picture and no backlight. Once powered up cant turn it off either.

Ive found a 1.6a 125v fuse that is blown near the top middle heatsink. Ive tested the 3 transistors around it which all check out.

I'm struggling a bit testing this schotty barrier diode attached to the heatsink(as not done before)

    yg862c10

It is only reading one way in diode mode but only reading 0.233v

Black probe in on middle pin and red to either side L / R pins 0.233v

From other diodes I have tested its usually between 4 and 6 is good, but not sure if this 0.233v with this particular type of diode is low.

this is the data sheet if you need it
    http://www.datasheet4u.com/datasheet....php?id=768112
im not sure how to read the data sheets myself really if a more experienced member can take the time to explane which figure we should be looking at on the data sheet im sure that would help a few members

Thanks, not really sure if it tells anything with measuring out of circuit

What I have found is another identical diode further down, so can measure that to see how they compare.

cant see anything else around that could have blown the fuse, little diode uptop is good too.

Worth replacing fuse and just testing?

Looks like it was just the fuse

Ive just used a regular 1.6a 250v Quick Blow glass cartridge fuse (Soldered some legs to it)

The specs on the board are 1.6a 125v (not sure if quick / slow / delay) etc

Its seems to be working fine, is that alright as a long term solution?

glad a new fuse fixed it leave it on test a while turning it on and off a few times, if alls ok and i was selling the set i would replace for the correct type of fuse, maybe a more experienced member will help find a link for some im not sure what that type of fuse is fast/slow blow etc.

Yea it's not something I'm gonna keep, got it for free with intentions fixing / selling on.

I'll use it for a week in place of my own set which should be good enough.

yes thats what i do with repaired items too be fair at least 1 weeks good test bymyself using all inputs etc saves any comebacks. I need to find some electronics again to try to fix etc maytry my local carboots in the new year as the cheap/free items on gumtree/facebook etc go so fast as a lot of people enjoy this hobby i guess.

Most carboots close for winter, me an my brother in law were like junkies trying to find a fix when our local one closed last month!! There's a few other smaller ones but not worth the hassle.
