    MOSFET K18A60V replacement part

    I found a shorted MOSFET in a samsung tv power supply. Its a 600V, 19.5A part. I can't find this part anywhere? Will this part work, or can anyone suggest another part?

        Don't put anything else in that power supply. I made the same blunder. I know the power supply is probably a 60 to 64 inch Samsung Plasma right? Two primary MOSFETs on the very left bank right above the input mains? I replace two with equivalent and it work for the first night but the second night they got awfully hot in short it again and then it did more damage to the power supply. I don't know if it was my fault but I would replace the gate driver ic also when you replace those. Just heads up I hate to see what happened to mine happen to yours.

            Hi freakaftr8, are you referring to ICP801? If so, do you know the part number? I can't read the part number on the part.

                    Well I looked at that IC tonight and probably just like yours mine is completely unreadable. It has some substance all over it as soon as you rub it off to read the number the number is gone

                      Re: MOSFET K18A60V replacement part

                      The part number is usually written by laser which leaves a shallow groove. After an IC is cleaned, the number can often be made to show again by applying ink from a white paint pen and lightly wiping it off so the ink stays in the groove.

                        I was able to get the part number by scrubbing it with isopropyl alcohol.

                          It's a Toshiba part, TK18A60V.

                          VDSS = 600V
                          ID = 18A
                          PD = 40W
                          RDSon = 0.19 ohm at VGS = 10V

                            Working on exact same board you guys are talking about. What could be a better fit to replace K18A50D ? I have new Mosfets K18A60V and K15A50D.

                              Hello guys,

                              I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

                              I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

                              Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
                              I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...

                              Dual mosfet replacement help
                              by DoOm86
                              Hello.
                              I have a notebook with a shorted mosfet, it's a E6930 GA8125.
                              It seems to be a 30V dual asymmetric N-channel AlphaMos.
                              Luckily the notebook is working, so I just need to find a good replacement for this mosfet.

                              And here is where I need help!
                              It's the first time I have to replace this kind of mosfet, I checked on mouse and I found this: (mouser No) = 512-FDPC5030SG.
                              I need your help to be sure is a good replacement or there is another with better compatibility, since I can't find the same exact (just from China).
                              Thanks!...

                              Hp Lh482p 5 short 3 long short after cpu vcore mosfet replacement
                              by jm942
                              Hi,
                              My laptop went dead and after checking ,the main 19 volt power rail was shorted. After some checks i could identify that a high side vcore mosfet was shorted.
                              I replaced the mosfet and now the white powerled is present , fans start spinning but capslock shows the famous 5 long and 3 short code.

                              I checked the vcore voltages after replacement and i get for all 1.01 V so means for me that the driver is still working of the replaced shorted mosfet. On the Nvidia i measure around 0.8 V after the mosfets.
                              I did voltage injection on the cpu with 0.7V and i have a current...

                              How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
                              by Jane
                              I tried to use this method:

                              Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

                              Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
                              Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
                              Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

                              Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
                              Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the
