Toshiba 46L5200U LED Backlight flickers and shuts off

    Hello,
I have read all of the posts regarding this issue and have not found anything to work, however, I currently have this thing working....sort of. I had it working perfect, no flicker, no shut down, for a few hours with the back off. I put the back on again and the backlight flickered and shut off. I laid it down, pulled the back off and still the same issue. I tilted it up and took the screws out of the LED driver. This is what I have figured out....as long as the LED driver is hanging at an angle, the tv will stay on forever. The moment I start to tilt the LED driver, it flickers and shuts off. I have taped it down and fiddled with every wire connected to the driver and it is not an individual wire, it is just the LED driver itself somehow. I can buy a new driver and try that, but was told the new driver never fixes these tvs. Before I spend the money, I am wondering why would it make a difference if the LED driver is hanging at an angle?

Did you check the DCV on the DIM control pin to see what you get when the board is properly mounted?

I will check the voltage tonight when it is mounted properly. Thank you for the response.

I would bet you have an intermittently open circuit LED in the panel. Perhaps moving the board affects the output voltage or drive current (heat, physical touch can change regulation circuit)
The reason I suggest this is LED flickering due to bond wire failure is quite common and has similar symptoms.

And some pictures would be good too. Including one with the pin outs.

"I would bet you have an intermittently open circuit LED in the panel. " I will not be surprised at all.
