    Panasonic TH-50PX70B upper screen fault

I was recently given a Panasonic TH-50PX70B with a slight fault.
After a while the top half of the screen starts flickering and sometimes goes black.
After some googling I've seen that it might be the 'upper y buffer board' or the SU board however I havent been able to confirm that the part numbers I've found might be these boards
    What I've found are:
    TNPA4188 + TNPA4189 buffer boards
    TNPA4169 1 C1 TXNC11HMTB
    TNPA4170 1 C2 TCNC21HMTB
    TNPA4189 1 SD TXNSD1HMTB

Can anyone tell me which of these might fix the problem please? (Picture of issue attached)

    Thanks
    Paul

TNPA4188 is the SU board (upper buffer)

      Thanks tw2005

It's an intermittent problem. Could it just be a cable seating issue?

Is there anything I should be aware of if replacing the board? (other than allowing the tv to discharge overnight)

      Thanks

you could try reseating any cables from the sc to the su but it looks most like a faulty SU.

OK, that's my first task for tomorrow. Failing that I'll order the SU board.
Will let you know how I get on.

          Thanks

Reseated the ribbon cables but the fault persists so I'll order the board.
Will update the thread when it's replaced.

              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
              by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
              by Alicat
              Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

              Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

              Panasonic SA-MAX770PU SMPSU board fault....
              by Rictech
              Hello everyone. 😀

As per thread title, this unit has a serious SMPSU fault. It blows F1001, which is a 10A M205 in the phase from the mains input.
Very first thing I tried, was simply replacing the fuse, but the replacement ceramic fuse blew immediately.

Looking at the schematic for this PSU, I then removed what I thought was the next likely candidate: D1001 - the HV main bridge rectifier.
This isolated the fault(no longer blows the main fuse), but does not point me to the actual fault.
There are no devices that have exploded or otherwise show signs...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
              by smic717394
              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
