For some reason I'm just not satisfied, the speckles are driving me crazy! Can anyone tell me if replacing the control board might eliminate them or would the replaced board have to be flashed as well?

If the maldischarge is even across the screen get your control board reprogrammed - these boards are reportedly married to the panel such that the board compensates as the panel ages.

If the maldischarge is uneven forget it. The panel likely aged that way due to manufacturing defect common in these.

What Colour is the mal-discharge....?

Usual is red and will be cured by cont-board firmware.

Not sure what you mean by "even", but it always shows up in the same places(evenly spaced apart in the middle of the screen). As for the color, with the Y board voltages within spec it's only red, however when I lower the VSC and -VY by ~5V-10V each the red disappears and is replaced by blue and green, which makes the set more watchable, but when you know it's there you just can't ignore it. I even notice it slightly on my other repaired panasonic plasma which functions perfectly.

I can never look at a plamsa panel the same way again!

So it seems that I need to have the CTRL board firmware re-flashed and capkid is the man for the job.

He hasn't been online in a few weeks, anyone know of another way to get in touch with him?
