Hi a bit of advice,yet another faulty Samsung set,on switch on had a haze/fuzzy image on left of the screen,this disappears and the screen stays blue.
The remote don't seem to work well with the set either (do these need programming to the set ) original Samsung one,also when TV is in its blue screen state the left side speaker crackles loudly,any ideas.

Probably failed epprom these r88bd's I have seen the epprom fail so many times which causes lots of glitches but it could also be other things causing the fault. Could you post pictures of the boards and of the fault please.

Not opened it up yet,but will post pics,so is this new board job or can it be repaired,what causes the speaker to make this noise,

I see that your caps are leaking in the PSU. Fix what you know is bad and those are certainly bad. 3 brown ones on top.

Yes,one is bad and the other two are bulging,I've checked locally at a well known electrical store and they are not listing 470uf 25v,can I have slightly higher but not lower is this correct.

yep, correct. Higher in voltage no problem at all. Definitely not lower! Capacitance either same or a bit higher.

If the local well known store is Maplin then don't bother, as they only sell general purpose Caps and you should know by now you need low ESR capacitor for this kind of job (241 posts)?

So avoid maplins,only a suggestion as I only wanted the three,eBay have some but paying double for postage,

Replace all the capxon brand capacitors with high quality brand caps like Rubycon, panasonic or UCC. Maplin do offer low esr caps but they are cheap and not as reliable.
