    Toshiba V28A00096201

Hi, Im new to the forum and was troubleshooting my 2009 Toshiba Model number 55zv65ou and found this forum on my phone, so I signed up on my computer because I could see my damn phone..lol..anyway I went as far as to pull the main power board after some testing. Last night the tv was fine..this morning it does nothing..no light on the front nothing. I have 120 at the power plug on the board and found 1 open white resistor fuse (not sure of the technical name) but it has 3 that physically look the same but are different. Can anyone help me with what caused that to go bad? I did search for a new board V28A00096201 with not much luck.

I can solder if things need to be replaced and the only reason I have time to do this is because I had shoulder surgery 4 weeks ago and will be out of work for 4 months, so my income has been decreased to workers comp pay...this tv was perfect before this am I wasting my time or is it worth fixing it or should I just go buy a new tv with zero intrest for 18 months..lol..sorry for the long post but wanted to get all the info out there and I have pics on my phone just gotta figure out how to post them here. Thank you Frank

    Hello,

There are a couple of other posts about this power supply on here just not sure if they used a part number or not in the post. Anyways you will need to replace the 1.8 ohm fuseable resistor and either clean the contacts on the relay or replace the relay. I'll find the exact board location for the relay but it's the one that is connected to the resistor. I usually buy the 5j2r0 resistor on eBay

Thank you, there is one resistor r 828 that looks like it was warm at one point but I cant remember what the omhs should be I tested it with my fluke meter and think it was 46 ohms..i would have to double check because i cant remember anything..lol and the other bad fuse I believe was r 897 but I have to double check that also...Thank you

Yep I usually replace it with a 2.0 ohm 5rj2r0 resistor from eBay. The relay that needs to be cleaned is sr80. You can take the relay apart and clean the contacts or just replace the relay. If you do not replace or clean the relay it will cause the fusible resistor to open again in a short amount of time.

Also those resistors that have warm marks around them I have never had to replace they should read 46 or 47ohms

Thank you so much...I will order what I need and replace them...in the mean time I went out today and bought a new 55 Samsung smart 4k something or other and it came with the Samsung sound bar at HH Gregg with 0 interest for 18 months...lol..wow have tv's come along way since 2009...my daughter was playing music from her phone on it...gonna take me a little while to get used to it...I'm a simple man. Now I look at it and say I should have bought the 60 inch..lol I was happy with my old 55 inch so this should be just fine. Then my 19 year old son came in and said I thought you were fixing the old TV..I said I am...he said cool its going in my bedroom..lol..nope going in the basement if I ever finish the basement...thank you again for all your help... If you have any boat issues.. I can help you with that..lol
