    HP PL4260N has no video

I'm working on this HP PL4260N 42" Plasma that powers on normally but does not display anything on the screen. Everything has passed my preliminary visual inspection, but the fuse on the left on the Y Sustain board is blown (although the one on the right is still intact).

We are seeing 186 for the Vs voltage and 60 for the Va off the power supply. -Vy on the Y Sustain is holding at around 3.6. I was unable to locate VSCAN (possibly underneath the metal bracket which I have not removed yet) and VZB is a bit in the air; I found a test point called "Vzbias" on the Z sustain, but that does not measure any voltage.

Any ideas as to what to troubleshoot next to figure out what's going on with this?

    Fixed!... but no sound

As suspected, the Y Sustain was indeed the issue. The set fired up right away upon replacement of the board, but all is still not well as I'm not getting any sound out of the speakers (I did not test the sound before the repair). I made sure to plug them in all the way and doublechecked the connections on the mainboards, but I'm still not hearing anything.

Any ideas as to where to look to find out what would be causing a lack of sound?

      multimeter question

After doublechecking the connections, I still have no sound. Can I check audio output with a multimeter going to the speaker connections?

        can't figure it out

This is getting pretty strange. I replaced the sound/tuner board and am still not getting anything. Using a multimeter, the speakers tested good at about 5.7-6.3 both by the connector and where the connectors plug into the board itself, so I don't think it's a connectivity issue. Should I move on to the mainboard or could there be something I'm overlooking?

          All Fixed!

Figured it out! Looks like one of those cables was hiding under the replacement board . Hooking it back up fixed the problem.

A2442 - No sound over internal speakers and no video playback
            by soeren
I am facing a strange issue, I don't have any sound over my internal MacBook speakers and also the video won't start. If I change to my head speaker or via HDMI (speaker on my external Display) the sound works over the head speaker or Display and also the video starts (ex. youtube).

All happened after the battery ran out of power overall several days when I was on vacation.

I tried to remove the battery and then reconnected the battery, and then the MacBook Pro 14 2021 won't accept any power from my power socket. Then I removed one speaker, connected again the battery...

Audio video receiver KENWood KR-V990D,no sound
            by JRade
When I select the FM receiver, I find a radio station, the sound is heard on REC OUT(L,R), REC TAPE1(L,R),REC TAPE2(L,R) on high-ohm headphones, the sound regulation does not work.
The output reacts when I connect the record player to PRE OUT FRONT L, the sound is heard in the speaker but the sound regulation does not work. Then it does not matter what I chose on the front selector.
I replaced the capacitor C303/0.047F, nothing changes.
I'm asking for help, what should I do next?
            Thanks in advance!...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
            by FrancescoV
            Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
            M:1.00/11107BLP
            D:?.??/????????
            O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
            by LEECH666
            Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...
