Samsung T200HD TV, no power.

Hello everyone! My first post. I hope it's not too dumb or generic.

I got this TV for free, it's totally blank, no signs of life. I got it for learning purposes. I hope to resurrect it.

C201 and C202 are swollen. D101 and D103 conduct in both directions. The fuse and the bridge meter just fine.

Is there something else I should check? What diodes should I buy? The writings say nothing to me.

Ideally the diodes should be removed from the board to test using the diode function on your meter. It should be easier to read the markings on them once they are removed.

Do you get any voltage on any of the pins on the plug by the caps? IE: is there anything on +5.1 volts, it might be low but if it has any voltage at all it might just need the caps replace.
That would tell you if the primary circuit is working.

Ok! So here's my working TV!

I measured the voltages on the power supply board and they were way off. The 5.1V lines showed something like -0.6V and the other lines were showing like one third of the correct voltage.

So I thought I might try to change the two bulging 1000uF/16V caps first and see what happens. What happened was that the voltages came back to normal. So that's all I did this time. The repair was easy but I learned crazy lot in the process.
