Dynex DX-LCD42HD-09 Solarized and vol wide open

This one has me puzzled somewhat. It has a solarized picture but the menu looks perfect. Also the volume is all the way down using remote and showing bar on screen but It is wide open and blasts me out. Mute works just not the volume control. I read thru several posts online and have ordered a Main board but I was hoping to learn how to repair the board if I can.
I tested the power supply and replaced a bad but only slightly swollen cap on it. (it was a 1000uF but tested at 212uF and 9ohms/12% out of circuit).
All voltages are perfect now on it. Hoping to get some added input for possible chip replacement or how to figure out the volume thing.

OK followup update... It was a good call getting the replacement main board. Found one very reasonable by doing a google search. FYI same board for DX-LCD32HD-09 also.
To note it is important you make sure the menu is not solarized when you bring it up. That would indicate a different board. (On this TV it is mounted under a metal cover at top near center)
I only wish i could get more info for how to trace down and find the actual failing chips on the board itself. I want to become a fixer and not just a part swapper.
