    Samsung LN52B630N1FXZA vs. Lightning

Was given this tv by a friend after it had the unfortunate encounter with a lightning strike. I have not dug too much into it but I did test the power supply and got all appropriate voltages.

I see no visible damage and I know the surge entered through the cable box and tv through the hdmi cable. The cable box was fried and the tv was found on with what I'll describe as a heartbeat with no brain. Also noteworthy is a white single pixel on the screen that appeared after the strike. The dead pixel has a raised area on the screen directly above it alost like it burned the screen.

When plugged in the backlight comes on but obviously the controls don't work and it has no display.

Is it a money pit or should I throw a main board in as I'm 100% positive that's what is fried? What's the likelyhood the damage is limited to the mainboard? This is the first lightning tv I've messed with.

I just bought a main board for same model for $15.00 off of eBay. Have to believe it's worth a shot.
