    Samsung UE32ES6100 Blinking led.

    Hey guys ,

Got this 32" 3D led tv from Samsung.
On first power up it starts up fine and it will work for a few days and then while playing it will reboot and play fine.
Then while playing it will turn off and it wont turn back on anymore.
The led will blink 2 times fast and does that 5 times and then a pause. ( or it blinks 10 times? )

If i leave the tv off for a while it will turn on again and the same symptoms will start. Sometimes it will work for a week....
Service manual says nothing about the blinking leds and i dont have that type of capacitors yet to replace them.

Anybody have any experience with these models? Also , when the tv starts up , the samsung smart logo is viscible for 1sec....is that normal?
    Can it be firmware?

Dont have pictures of the boards yet!

1st check for solder connections on power board. Check board connectors, then check electrolytic caps on power board then proceed to second phase of elimination.

So i replaced almost every capacitor on the power supply. Didn't suspect them as the voltages were ok but just to be sure i replaced them.
After searching for a new mainboard on the web i found out this :

      http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn9...repair-kit.htm

This mainboard has the EXACT same problem as i have with this tv. I already reset the EEPROM but as you can see my mainboard does not have those 2 chips so something else is causing the problem on the mainboard.

I searched for a mainboard but i can't find it , its like nobody has the mainboard for sale.
Im searching for the model "BN94-06045B/BN41-01812A"

I didn't pay much attention when i ordered a new mainboard and only searched for BN41-01812A and saw a mainboard that looked visually the same but when it arrived it was slightly different and the sticker says "BN94-05750K".
Placed it in the TV and i only get a blinking backlight , looks like a error code.

So im searching for BN94-06045B or a mainboard that will work in this TV. Can anyone help me or knows how to repair this mainboard? Tv won't turn on anymore.

Its 100% mainboard problem! Leds are fine and power supply is also fine.

      Thanks.

Here are the pictures of the boards.
Original board is the board on the right.

Tv immediately starts with 5x double blink ( blink blink STOP blink blink STOP blink blink etc etc ).

Thx for the reply! Its not the same board and i doubt that it will work in this tv.....

So i got a new mainboard ( BN94-05920B ) , replaced it with the old mainboard and still the same blinking pattern.

Im lost here , can it be a T-con problem or is it still a powersupply problem?

What happens if you disconnect all the boards and force the PSU on with a 1k ohm resistor between STBY and PSON, STBY to BLon?

                  Re: Samsung UE32ES6100 Blinking led.

Note PSON on a samsung set is likely to be active low so try STBY to GND as well..

Will try both! I do notice that 12V is going to mainboard and drops to 0v and then goes back to 12V. ( It tries to start the tv i think ).

                    thx for the help.

When i remove the cable from the mainboard , the backlight starts flashing. ( on off on off etc )

So i removed the cable from the mainboard.

I tried all 3 options with a 1K resistor and nothing happens. ( no backlight ).
                        I do have 5V/3.3V/12V.

Unplug all boards, force the PSU on and check the PFC filter cap for more than 360V DC. Be careful on the primary side. As long as you measure things at the primary, the negative on the filter cap is the GND.
Did you wire STBY through 1k resistor to BLon?

1K resistor between pin 18 and pin 12.

I dont get a high voltage on the caps you mentioned. I do get 45v on backlight connector.

Did you check that big filter cap on the primary side of the PSU? Hmm... could you post a picture of the PSU and another one from the whole back side of the TV to see how things are connected?

                                  Re: Samsung UE32ES6100 Blinking led.

Hmm , resoldered the big caps and other parts and tv is working now. I dont get it though as the soldering looked fine , no cold solder........
Replaced it with the old mainboard and tv still works. ( with both mainboards ). So this is definately a powersupply problem , probably weak solder!

Will test it and see what happens.

                                    Re: Samsung UE32ES6100 Blinking led.

                                    Hmm , same problem again!

Tv was working fine but noticed that tv kept asking for some settings in the service menu on startup.
Turned tv off , replaced mainboard and turned the tv back on and its blinking again. Replaced the mainboard with the other mainboard but still blinking. ( Seen tv work with both mainboards ).

So this makes me think that its a capacitor problem. Left the tv blinking and returned after 30 minutes and tv was on again.
                                    Only caps i didn't replace were 2 caps , 68uf/100v ( I think , not with the tv right now )

Any thoughts on this issue? When tv is working and i remove the mainboard cable , the backlights stay on! When its blinking and i remove the cable , the backlight stays off.

Need help with this one! There is also a potmeter on the PS , what is it for?
