was wondering if there's any courses I can take to get certified in fixing tvs. I been fixing tvs for about 2 yrs now I got some soldering certifications but was wondering if there anything I can take to get some certification

Some stated require licence. Louisiana use to but stopped due to budget cuts. If you want to learn component level electronic's, I recommend E.T.A. or ISCET. I am a member of both. They give you list of topics and books. The exams are proctored. There is a basic knowledge exam of core electronic then another exam for your journeyman, industrial or consumer electronics and so on.
The test are difficult, but if you pass your paperwork will set you apart from the others. I have seen people who can pass a test and not able to fix anything. I have seen people that can fix things but not pass a test. If you put a lot into it, you will get alot out of it.
Most places only want board changers, this does not require a lot of knowledge. Component level repair is hard and most Service Manuals don't include schematic anymore. They want you to buy a new board instead of repairing it.

Got this card out of a box of old electronics and am hoping there's a way to fix it, when i found it i put it in one of my desktops and it displays a kinda static like bars of color. so upon further inspection i noticed that it is missing a choke and a capacitor, and the other choke is cracked and there's a piece of it missing. im pretty good with smd soldering and i looked around quite a bit but cant seem to find what the part numbers of the missing components are. if anybody could help me out with this that would be great. the part number of the card is P/N 102A4900103 15931211-14-2025, 04:48 PM
