Yep trashy Samsung Panel, absolute junk. The reason why these fail is due to heat them mosfets just cant take it as they are barely heatsunk and get no air flow. Utter crap Tv.

I like my Kuro better - it may be modern, new fangled technology but MAN is it well built.

Just the Y drive board is crazy!

No Tom , its all valve , service manual is dated 1967 , I have it on in my reception area for customers to view when they bring something in for repair,people are amazed when they see it running from a sky box .

Pioneer design their circuits in a way that the components dont get stressed hard IMO. I mean they barely even get warm but produce a kick ass image, theres a fan above that Ydrive but its not needed as nothings being pushed too hard unlike for example a Sammy 50Q97 which after on for an hour can burn your hand if you put it on the cover lol.

Would you agree Tom that Pioneer designed them that well to the point where non of the parts get stressed badly hence low heat dissipation ? Either way Pioneer Plasmas newer ones at least barely get hot, tbh some of the older Lcd Tv's get twice as hot.

the driver is not in the screen it is on the power board with just red and black wire going to led with zero volts going to them at any time

Some of these crap Tv's have the driver in the screen (only the LTA400HM23 Panel) but some which use the VES400 Panels have the driver on the Psu.

Yes they are different from the Smasung ones but not any better. Still they have lots of issues with the drivers and Leds etc.

All you need to know about Japanese engineering is they test and check everything. So they are very well engineered. This is a reputation thing - it's why Japanese cars, like German cars, are often considered the best in the world.

You can see the engineering teams work hard. The oscilloscope screenshots show one unlucky bugger was up until 8pm finishing the manual...this is pretty common in Japan. I know an EEng who works there, it's brutal. Hardly any time for a social life.

ok replaced a transistor now I have 124.1 volts going through the red wire to the leds but only 60 volts coming out and still no lights

Checked for O/C with in the Leds also cheked them little connectors ?

checked all leds 2 not working is there anyway to bypass the single led as they are covered by plastic and it does not warrant paying £40 for 2 strips of leds from ebay is it ok to clean the track and solder one in front of the failed one

I had a vestel with 2 LED light strips in and a LED had failed so I just replaced the one failed strip , just over a month the set came back again with a LED failed in the bottom strip this time and I had to do the job all over again, you may be better replacing ALL the LED s in one go to save this happening to you !

I beg to differ, I have sold a alod of Led Tv's (Vestel-Lg-Samsung) in which I have repaired failed bulbs some have been sold over 8months now all working fine, to all my customers I advise they keep the brightness on min I also give 3 months free warranty on all Tv's I sell.
