Had this lg50pj550 come in the door. Relays would just click when powered on. Power resistors on PS board no resistance among other things. Bought a brand new (not used) PS. Plugged it in with everything attached except the buffers on the Y. Tv powered up just fine. Logic board happily blinking etc....
Next step was to power unit down unplugged and attach the Y buffers. This time (buffers attached) powered unit on. Within 3 seconds SNAP!! The surface mounted fuse on the Z sust. Blew!! Damn it!! Replaced fuse and now the only way the PS board would stay on is if the Y board was disconnected!! Ran with no buffers and the minute I attached the buffer all hell broke loose!!
Ok......had to be a bad buffer?? Took out the Y and probably the Z because the Y powers the Z on this model!!
Ordered a new Y, 2 buffers, and a new Z. Can't turn back now!! All used boards from so called broken panels but I understand how that can go??
New boards, tv powers on but displays this blotchy image. No fixed lines they are just blotchy and random. Panel is fine, it was before. I also noticed there is zero volume regardless how loud I crank it via remote. Not sure if that offers some clues?? Only thing I can think of is a bad replacement buffer?? Although when I disconnect them one at a time the image changes and will cut the screen off upper or lower. All signs in the right direction. What next??
