Sony KDL-52VL150 Tab Bonding Issue, not 100% fixed

Have a Sony KDL-52VL150 that had bad ghosting on the left side of the TV. I was able to fix it by finding an area on the top-left tab that gets rid of the ghosting when pressure is applied, but I still have a 1-2 pixel horizontal line that fades out halfway across the screen (picture attached). Also seeing some "noise" in the panel, horizontal rolling lines most noticeable on light backgrounds. I'm pretty sure it goes away too occasionally while the TV is on, just to come back again. I read somewhere this could be an issue with the panel driver. Any input is appreciated. I also suspect that the pixel line is part of my tab bonding issue, and may be unfixable.

I could part this out and still turn a small profit, but I'd hate to trash the panel at this point.

Sony Bravia KDL-70W850B T-CON board / software update issue
    by eclectric
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue before I give up on this TV.

In short, I replaced the T-CON board due to an error code indicating that was the problem, after which it flashed a green and orange LED meaning software update required. I cannot get the tv to do the required update via USB, so I am stuck.

Here is a rundown of the symptoms and the steps I have taken to troubleshoot:

I inherited the TV with the symptom that it would turn on, then turn off after 5-10 seconds and a red LED flashed 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it would be 4, sometimes...

Sony SLV-E780 Power Supply Issue – Clicking Sound, Need Help Identifying Faulty Component
    by Akuanka
    Hi everyone,

I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.

Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The monitor is old yes but occasionally used (perhaps about 1 ~2 hours usage per day on average)
one time i turned the pc on and noticed this issue
    what could it be?
nothing wrong is seen when it is off, also the issue is not there on a green screen!
when watching movies it is hard to detect unless in black screen/large shadows
    please check the images, thanks...

    Sony KD-55X9000F TCON Issue
    by thelankanguy
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...

Sony RB2G Chassis KDL-55W815B MAIN BOARD 2 Blink Error issue resolved! Happy days :)
    by cheeky2
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...
