Hello,
I'm new here and glad to be a part of this component level community. Some members have posted here previously regarding my or, similar issues. These 3 threads can be reviewed here:

My concern is I do not want to simply replace the two capacitors I see that have bulging tops (582 & 583). It has been clear to me that VR's can also be involved in this repair so, I want to ensure I have the correct voltage before naively replacing these two capacitors. My LN-T4061F began exhibiting this power on problem only late this summer because, we do not use the set much despite purchasing it in 2008.
I am looking for measurement suggestions (TP's, etc) and parts recommendations. Additionally, I am also hoping someone here can openly discuss the Metcal soldering stations because, this is what I prefer to obtain but, I think the MX-500 is out of reach so, I need to restrict my attention to the SP-200 and possibly the Thermaltronics replacement hand sets.
Thanks for the help,
Rick
